Concho is now safe and happy with New Eden Kennels Boarding & Training for the next month. A shout out to Chris for taking him in on such short notice.

After our urgent request for financial assistance to make this happen, (and after almost 800 recorded views of our posts), I would sincerely like to thank these 5 people who stepped up to help. ATTENTION VSR FOLLOWERS-Emergency

As I am sure you have all seen my pleas for help with finding Concho a new home or foster over the last month or so, I am sad to say that no one has stepped up to help him as of today. Concho had a deadline of March 20th to be relocated, or the owner would turn him over to Animal Control. Animal Control has since refused to take Concho and as of yesterday the owner threatened to now have him euthanized.

A little background on “the owner.” He recently decided to get remarried at an elderly age and the new wife has refused to allow Concho to join their new blended family. Then “the realtor wife” sold the owners current home where Concho had been staying with the owner’s grown son for the last couple months. That sale closes tomorrow leaving the son and Concho out on the street to fend for themselves. Valley Stray Rescue has been desperately trying to help Concho since the day this situation was brought to our attention.

However, the fantastic news is as of this morning New Eden Kennels has graciously agreed to take Concho in for boarding and training at a discounted price for the next month allowing us more time to find him a permanent placement. Unfortunately, we still need to raise approximately $1,000 more to pay his final bill due by next week.

If you have continued to read this thus far, it shows that you care… While it is difficult if not impossible for many of you to give Concho a home, there are other ways that you can help to save his life. Please consider giving a small tax-deductible donation (receipt upon request). Even if everyone gave just a few dollars each, we would be that much closer to meeting our goal.

***FOSTER NEEDED***
Concho is losing his home in 7 days and needs a place to crash until a permanent adopter can be found. Can anyone help us out?

Concho is a 6.5 year old purebred Belgium Malinios who currently weighs approx. 100 Lbs. Concho is very large and very strong and also very happy and affectionate. Concho will need to be tested/supervised around other animals at first. He is active and in great health so he needs room to roam and/or regular walks. He is great in vehicles and on a leash and know many commands.

Please consider giving Concho a chance. It is not his fault that his owners are discarding him in pursuit of a different lifestyle. He deserves better. Please contact Katie at 520-701-1692 or [email protected] if you can help.

***FOUND DECEASED***
This Blue Heeler/Australian Cattle Dog was hit by a car overnight and left for dead on the side of Ralston at the dip for the wash north of Papago. S*x is unknown but he/she looks very healthy and not likely to be a stray. It is all black with white markings on the tip of the tail, neck and feet. No collar, no chip. If you recognize this dog please contact VSR ASAP. He has been removed from the scene and awaiting pick up from Animal Control.

EMERGENCY FOSTER NEEDED
This sweet boy whom we are calling Dude, was found yesterday in Hidden Valley and we are currently working on finding his owner. However, last night he went home to stay with his Finder and was attacked by their large dog. Dude went to Emergency last night and was evaluated by a Vet who said he will be fine, just a little banged up and needs time to heal.

Dude needs a temporary, safe, calm place to convalesce for a few days while permanent accommodations can be made. We are desperately trying to keep him from ending up at Animal Control. Dude is sweet, loving, a little timid, well behaved and good with other dogs who don't maul him;) Please consider helping this poor boy get a better chance at life from here on out.
