Everybody meet Roger! He is the biggest doggie I have done and thankfully I had Jeff’s help because I WOULD NOT have been able to do him without help! Roger is a 190 pound Irish Wolfhound and him was the sweetest gentle giant ❤️

It’s taken me SO long to figure out puppy grooms are NEVER perfect. But what I love about mobile grooming is days like today. I got to spend my uninterrupted, completely devoted time grooming this sweet girl ❤️ we took it slow, snuggled on the table, and most importantly she was 100% comfortable and not stressed out during her groom.

Happy new year to you all! I pray you all have a healthy and joyful year! I cannot thank you all enough for supporting my business these past few months and helping me build it up one appointment at a time. With this new year is going to come big transitions as I leave my full time job and build my grooming business into a full time career. Tis the season for shedding dogs! A lot of people think when a double coated dog is thick with hard and packed hair it means they need to be shaved. This is absolutely false! I have no problem taking the time to brush and blowout a big hairy dog! Just ask Ms. Bella here!

So you bought a new puppy! What next? Potty training, teething and teaching not to chew on furniture, crate training, leash training, obedience training… Training, training training! BUT what most people don’t realize is puppies need grooming training too! Even if they don’t need haircuts they need to get desensitized for nail trims, baths, blowouts, and ears cleaned. Everything I do when grooming your dog is much much easier if we start when they’re babies so when they’re big dogs, they don’t despise getting a bath haircut and nail trims.

“Why does my dog smell so bad?”

This is the NUMBER ONE question I get. So let’s talk about stinky dogs! There are a ton of reason a dog can stink but the top reason are:

1. Ear infections- Any dog can get an ear infection some breeds are more likely to get them, but if your dogs head smells icky all the time no matter what you do… Take them to the vet and have them check the ears out!

2. Dermatitis- Skin disorder. So many dogs have dermatitis and their owner has NO idea! It can be caused by allergies, fungus, diet, and so many other things. There are some tell tale signs, one of which being smelly. Worsening cases have symptoms of red and itchy skin, greasy skin, flaky skin, and hair loss.

3. Dental disease- At the vet they will always ask you if you’re brushing your dog’s teeth. You definitely should be brushing, incorporating teething toys or bones or taking your pet to vet for routine dental cleanings. Dental disease in dogs is not only very smelly but SO painful for the dogs and can cause more issues other than dental pain and smelly mouth.

4. Kidney disease- Dogs with kidney problems or continuous UTIs have a very distinct and musty smell to them. If you’ve had EVERYTHING else checked and your dog still seems to just have a foul odor, get their kidneys checked too.

5. Normal pet odor- So dogs just sometimes stink. They sweat through their paws so dogs feet actually are what stinks. If you know your dog is very healthy with no issues and they get regularly groomed, try washing their feet! You’d be surprised how much it helps!

Of course there’s tons of other reasons but these are the top causes of smelly pups. If your dog is smelly, call me and I’ll come by and help 😁
