Oh no, Scabies! Scabies is a skin disease caused by microscopic mites. They live 3 to 4 weeks in the host's skin. They cause extreme itchiness, especially on the ear flaps, elbows, and abdomen.
Being on NexGard, NexGard Plus or Simparica Trio will prevent you and your pet a lot of irritation.

Do you have a stick chewer?!? 🦴🌳
This poor dog had a stick lodged between his molars! Unfortunately, this can be a consequence of letting your pet chew on branches and twigs! If the stick gets stuck in a certain location, it can cause infection and result in tooth extraction. Check out how the stick was removed from this patient!

Ear mites are GROSS!
What are they?? (Info from VIN veterinary partner)
Ear mites are tiny infectious organisms resembling microscopic ticks. The mite can just barely be seen by the naked eye as a small white dot, though, ordinarily it is necessary to look at an ear wax sample under the microscope to see it. Infection usually produces a characteristic dry black ear discharge that is commonly said to resemble coffee grounds. This discharge is composed of ear wax, blood, inflammatory biochemicals, and the ear mites themselves.
How do we treat them?
EASY! With revolution plus they only need a ONE time treatment. A single application is used on the skin, the product is absorbed into the body where it kills numerous other parasites and then returns to be concentrated in the skin. When these products are used as regular flea control they have the added benefit of on-going ear mite prevention.
