Important Announcement: UrgentVet East Cobb has proudly provided excellent veterinary urgent care to the surrounding community since we opened. To enhance the care we deliver to pets and to better serve the local veterinary practices with whom we partner, we have decided to transfer all pet care from our East Cobb location to UrgentVet Roswell and UrgentVet Kennesaw. Give them a follow and if you need to visit in the coming months, we'll waive your exam fee (just show this post or mention EXAMWAIVE when you arrive).

Sweet Ava had a tickle in her throat after eating her treat whole and wasn't feeling too good, we're glad her owners trusted to bring her to UrgentVet for further evaluation. After the doctor did a physical exam we recommended further testing and medication to go home to assist Ava. 🐾❤

This little man paid UrgentVet a visit due to his owners having concerns about him using the restroom. The Dr did his physical exam and from there we were able to run test to see what was going on, after receiving some answers we were able to send the little guy home and provide the owners with a peace of mind. ❤

Meet our adorable friend, Indy Watts, he wasn't feeling too well and his mom brought him in for the doctor to take a look! Once the doctor did his physical exam he suggested to run test to see what's going on and send home medication! We hope Indy is doing well at home with his medication! 🐾❤

The holiday season is always full of surprises and touching stories, but this particular one warmed the hearts of our team. This past Thanksgiving, Jenn, a Girl Scout Troop Leader and one of her Girl Scouts, Anita, entered our clinic with a feral cat. Anita had been caring for this furry friend, who had made her neighborhood its home for the past three years. One evening, she called Jenn desperately seeking help after she discovered that her furry friend had been attacked and was near death.

Jenn sprang into action, bringing Anita and Ember into UrgentVet Cary, NC. She was prepared to have the difficult conversation with Anita, explaining that the cat might not survive the attack. Thanks to the UrgentVet Cary team, Ember is almost fully recovered! Jenn reports that Anita has been doing an amazing job looking after him and his wound as he continues to recover at her house.

Anita was prepared to sacrifice all the money her mom had saved for her Christmas presents to save Ember’s life. While Jenn had the resources to help, and our team had the means to save Ember, we knew this story didn’t end there.

The team at UrgentVet Cary was so touched by Anita’s dedication this animal in-need, that they rewarded her with a $300 gift card. We hope she continues to nurture her love for animals, and we can’t wait to see all the amazing things Anita will do in the future!

Foster decided she had a sweet tooth, her mom turned her back for one second and all of a sudden Foster ate a German chocolate cake. Her mom knew to bring her to us and we were able to safely induce vomiting, rehydrated her and gave her an anti nausea medication. I don't think Foster will be having any more chocolate cake. 🐾❤

While you’re prepping for tomorrow’s feast, keep these tips in mind to keep your furry family safe:
🍗 Watch the menu. Avoid sharing turkey bones, rich foods, or anything with onions, garlic, or spices.
🧺 Secure the trash. Curious noses can find harmful leftovers.

🍬 Hide the candy - Chocolate and sugar-free treats can be toxic, so keep them far from curious noses.
🕯️ Skip the candles - Battery-operated lights are a safer bet around wagging tails.
🚪 Calm the chaos - If your pet gets nervous with all the doorbell ringing, set them up in a quiet room with their favorite toy.

🌊 Everyone Meet Sandy 🌊 ~ Sandy is a brave rescue pup, that was recently adopted by some good samaritans! When they noticed she became quieter than normal and started vomiting. Her caring owners quickly scheduled a reservation on our website, urgentvet.com, and brought her in. After a precautionary parvo test and thorough exam, we discussed diagnostics and treatments. Fecal cytology revealed two types of intestinal parasites, and we administered a dewormer to help Sandy recover. Let's all wish Sandy a speedy recovery! 🌟🐶 #RescueDog #PetCare #QuickRecovery
