It is with the heaviest heart we make this post today.
I’m devastated.
Chronos has crossed the rainbow bridge.
His little body was just so weak and so exhausted and unfortunately by the time we got him, he’d had large pieces of plastic in him for at least 10 days that we know of.
By that time, his little body was already so sick and so weak.
He did the best he could to push all of that nasty junk out and after 5 days of p**ping out hard pieces of plastic and human hair and all the other things lodged in there, he was so weak and exhausted.
His meds seemed to be helping but he just couldn’t.
He fought to the VERY last moment of his life! He fought harder than any other animals we’ve had to rehab. I’ve never seen a spirit like his before.
When I tell you it is with a heavy heart, I mean that. We are broken over his passing.
I am so thankful that our team was the last to lay hands on this animal.
He was loved immensely by everyone!
Chronos, you deserved the world and I hope that whatever you encounter next, our love and passion travels along with you. I hope you know how brave and strong you were and how much you genuinely touched our hearts.
You don’t have to fight anymore buddy. Rest easy and know you are loved so very much.

Update on Chronos!!!

HE IS NO LONGER IMPACTED!!!

We worked the rest of the hard plastic down into the canal and he did the work through the night and p**ped the rest out!

Now while that is GREAT news because he can finally start to heal, unfortunately he went so long with hard sharp plastic in his intestines, we’re not sure what kind of internal damage it caused.

He’s alert and he is moving all of his limbs but he is still not out of the woods AT ALL! Now is the healing process.

His cloaca is very swollen and I’ve fixed two prolapses that continue to happen when he tries to push p**p out.
I’m hoping that tissue isn’t damaged permanently.

He’s very lethargic although he opens his eyes and is awake and aware. He does NOT like his meds and often will vomit them back up after taking them but all is well, he is surviving and FIGHTING! This fellow WANTS to live!!

Please continue to share his story and help us spread awareness. This dragon is the perfect example of “I can do it myself” gone so wrong.

ADOPTED! 💚💚

In hopes to get adopted, our longest resident, Victor Crum, has posed with a beautiful flower to entice someone to come visit him.
He is desperate for a proper enclosure and tired of being in the shelter with little attention, as he is a VERY social dragon.
Victor enjoys warm baths and head scratches. He LOVES meal worms and gobbles his greens up like a champ.
Victor is a really sweet dragon and would make a great companion.
Please consider adopting Victor.

Good evening everyone!
We’re reaching out for help.
The shelter is approximately $300 short of being able to make our rent payment.
We desperately need this sanctuary for these animals. We need a separate room for our quarantine snakes so they can get better and not infect the rest of our animals.
We’re working tirelessly and we’re doing all we can to try to create a revenue.

We’re trying to raise some money for a reticulated python enclosure!!
Our big girl has grown out of this teeny enclosure and is starting to get uncomfortable.
Because they’re a restricted animals and very specific, we’re not able to find her a good home outside of our facility!
Aunt Sponge is desperate for a larger enclosure 🙏

‼️‼️ATTENTION BALL PYTHON OWNERS‼️‼️

🐍Have you ever experienced your beloved BP going on a food strike?
🐍What about your BP seeming uninterested for a long period of time before taking their rat or mouse?

➡️Ever wonder WHY they’re such finicky eaters?
In the wild, ball pythons generally are found in holes, burrows, and around tree roots.
➡️Theyre considered terrestrial and nocturnal predators who do not hunt but instead await for their food to come to them.
This is called “opportunistic and ambush” eating.
➡️In Africa, a small rodent scales the forest floors at night, making for an incredibly easy meal for these opportunistic predators.
➡️Ball pythons go CRAZY for these small rodents which they would naturally feed on in the wild.
They’re rich in calcium and essential vitamins that your animal needs to be healthy!
➡️These animals feed on small seeds, grasses, and insects they find on the ground.

‼️🐍FGS8 is officially breeding these small rodents and gut loading them with FRESH foods they would naturally find in the wild!
We are ethically raising and will be selling them both frozen and live!!
(Our rodents are taken care of like they’re our pets! We love on them and play with them. We feed them quality food and give them tons of enrichment.)🐍‼️

This is what we do folks. These animals suffer and struggle just the same as your cat or dog. The difference? We’ve been programmed to believe they’re evil or scary. That’s the saddest part of it all! They don’t stand a chance. Isn’t that just like humans? Deciding who is and isn’t worthy of our empathy and help? It feels like a cut so incredibly deep that it’s going to take a HUGE amount of effort to fix the problem. The problem starts with us! Decide they’re worth it!
