We had a great time celebrating this amazing team this week! Not everyone could make it to lunch, but we appreciate each and every one of them! Veterinary Medicine is a team effort and we have a great one! A big thank you to Dr. Kidd and Dr. Kay for making us feel special! 🥰 Happy Vet Tech week everyone!

A veterinary technician is a vital part of our team. Emma has been with us for just over a year and we don't know what we would do without her! Veterinary technicians have a multitude of duties ranging from dentals to nail trims on difficult patients. And from running laboratory tests to comforting clients that have just received bad news. They wear all the hats and it is a challenging career. It is a labor a love and we are lucky to have Emma. If you see her this week, give her some extra love. 💚💚

We all love the fall colors and enjoying camp fires in the crisp cool air! Fall brings some amazing scenery! Unless you have a dog that like to eat leaves.... The gorgeous red maple trees can be harmful to your dog and your horses if a branch breaks loose. Check these trees after a windstorm and make sure to remove any fallen branches/leaves immediately or keep your animals away from them. The leaves are only toxic when they are dried or wilted. The live leaves on the tree and the ones that naturally fall in autumn are safe.

Congratulations to all the showman at the Washington County Fair! Give the Washington County Junior Fair Board page a follow to see what our youth have accomplished thus far.

The Overall Showmanship competition begins in the horse arena at 6:30 p.m. this evening. This is a showcase of the Overall Showmanship winners from each species being shown at the fair. Each Showman will be showing one of each species shown, to determine the Overall Showmanship winner for the fair. The best of the best.

The schedule is FULL of fun today for the entire family. Come out and enjoy the fair! We have attached today's schedule below. ⏬️

Tomorrow afternoon at 1 p.m. the junior livestock sale begins. There is a buyer's reception at 4 p.m. If you are a local business owner or individual, we invite you to join us in supporting our hardworking and dedicated youth of Washington County. Becoming a buyer does not mean you have to take livestock home. You can make arrangements with the exhibitor, make your own arrangements, or send the animal to the packer for a return on your purchase.

Christy has been a rock star this summer! She has learned so much and really become part of the team. She also earned second place in Veterinary Science in the Ohio FFA! We are lucky that she will continue part time during the school year! We cannot wait to see what she will accomplish in the future!

We are so thrilled to be able to welcome new clients to our hospital! However, there has been some confusion when it comes to how we determine what requires a deposit. We want to clear that up for everyone! New clients include people that have not brought a pet to us for more than three years in addition to people that have never had a pet here. Yes, she looks 13. Yes she is old enough to drink (has been for awhile). Yes she is the G.O.A.T. at being a veterinary assistant! We don't know what we would do without her. We want to wish Abbi a very happy birthday!
