Did you know that bandage placement requires a skilled and knowledgeable hand? RVT Megan placed Snowball's bandage as she has undergone years of professional training in proper bandage application. Proper bandaging is crucial for a pet's recovery, as it can help prevent infection, promote healing, and keep your dog comfortable.

Our goal is to keep your dog comfortable during recovery, and proper bandaging is a key part of that process.

With the holiday season around the corner, it's the perfect time to spread kindness and give back to those in need--including our Good Dogs! Animal shelters play a crucial role in our communities, providing a safe haven for animals in need and working to reduce pet overpopulation through spaying and neutering. They also reunite lost pets with their families and teach everyone the importance of compassion and care for animals. 🐾 🫶🏻

But shelters can't do it alone - they rely on community support to continue their vital work. There are thousands of animals waiting for their forever homes, and many shelters are in constant need of volunteers, donations, and assistance.

By supporting your local shelter, you're helping to give animals the love and care they deserve. Visit your local shelter today to find out how you can get involved and make a difference! We'd love to hear from you! Share your favorite local animal shelter in the comments and let us know how you love to volunteer or give back! Your ideas and experiences might inspire someone else to get involved! 🐾❤️

Our entire Good Dog Veterinary Care team is elated to welcome Dr. Sam Warner aboard! 🎉🐾 With her extensive background—serving as an Army Veterinarian and caring for Military Working Dogs across the globe—she’s a huge asset to Good Dog and will be instrumental in helping us continue to serve our community!

Dr. Warner earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Georgia, and then ventured to Auburn University to complete her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM). While dogs can't do math, they understand quanities. If you put less food in their bowl or give them an extra treat, they can tell the difference. This ability to sense quanities, known as the "approximate number system," is something many animals share -- and now we know it's an innate, untrained skill that's evovled over time.

So next time you're feeding your pup, know that they're keeping track of their treats!

Good Dogs Deserve Great Care

Good Dog Veterinary Care is Georgia’s first and only “all-dog” veterinary practice. Dr. Patrick Singletary, lead veterinarian and owner, loves practicing dog-only veterinary medicine, and he enjoys sharing his dog expertise with the West Cobb community. We pride ourselves in providing individualized care for dogs and being dog experts. Good Dog Veterinary Care provides premium veterinary care to dogs while educating owners on the best wellness plans to help their dog live their best “Good Dog” life. We look forward to providing exceptional care for both the dog and their owner each and every visit.

Good Dog Veterinary Care is a full-service veterinary hospital, specializing in wellness and preventative care. Dr. Singletary oversees all aspects of a dog’s veterinary health from the puppy stage through senior care. Good Dog Veterinary Care offers wellness plans which allows clients to provide premium care to their dog with easy to manage monthly payments. The wellness plans include annual visits, dental cleaning, comprehensive labwork, vaccines, X-rays, and parasite preventatives. Dr. Singletary enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine, especially surgery, dentistry, and educating owners on the intricacies of their own dog.

Good Dog Veterinary Care is the premier “all-dog” veterinary practice in the Southeast, and the only veterinary facility of its kind in the state of Georgia. Good Dog Veterinary Care officially opened in Fall 2019.

Dr. Singletary is a Marietta resident and a graduate of the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine. He has been practicing veterinary medicine in Cobb County since graduating from Veterinary School, and he has dreamed of owning his own practice since he knew he wanted to be a veterinarian as a child. In his free time, you can find Dr. Singletary and his wife Natalie cheering on the Dawgs in Athens or enjoying time Lake Rabun with their German Shorthair Pointer Mix, Lilly.
