This week at OKC Futurity has been a struggle so far 🫠. This is the only clean run I've made so far so I'm sharing it💁♀️🤣. I can always count on Mary to be solid ❤️. I'm hoping the barrel hitting and first round jitters/panic moments with Val and Dahlia are behind us😊😆. I'm doing a mental reset for round 2 and not dwelling on what's happened so far ❤️. Sometimes things just don't go your way especially with these young horses no matter how prepared you think you are 🤣. My goal is to be a little faster on Mary tomorrow in round 2 and to have clean, confident, under control runs on Val and Dahlia on Saturday in round 2 of the Rookie💪.
A little OKC Futurity prep this week. Val was 5th in the 3d tonight being smart about the ground. He's getting really fun 😁 💕. Dahlia had a great first barrel, then a slip and panic moment at the second barrel, so I coasted the rest of the pattern on her. On to the next one. Hauling and seasoning can be humbling and frustrating and exciting all at the same time 🫠😆😬😂. Thankful for encouraging friends offering help and giving input. 💕

What a great week at the bfa! "Val" made his first two competition runs and he handled himself so well! He shaved off 4 tenths in his second run. He is going to be fun to season this year 🥰👏

This big 3yr old mare had all summer off because she took the heat a little harder than the rest of my horses. I've spent the past month getting her fit again and this was her first cruise through since May. 🖤 I'm pretty happy with that! 👏😎💕

Val is stepping up his game! He had some bobbles here and there but they were because he's trying to be quick. He is starting to reach around the second and third barrel and really dig in and push leaving them💪👏 I even blew a stirrup yesterday at the second barrel💁♀️🤣. I mean the way I see it, if I'm falling off they must be trying pretty hard🤣. Let the countdown to the BFA begin! 👏💖🎲
