Puppy socialization! It’s more than play dates. It’s showing your puppy the world and how they can appropriately interact with it, making sure their experiences have positive outcomes and they learn to be neutral to common things in their environment.
Think about your daily routine, environment, lifestyle, and activities. Make a list of any objects, experiences, sounds, brings, etc. that your puppy will need to be ok with. Then bring treats and spend time around all of that. Gauge your puppy’s reaction and make super positive experiences out of your time out with them.
And enjoy eachother!!
Our #SDiT puppy, Potato, took another trip to Marietta Square to experience traffic noise, passing people and dogs, squirrels, settling at a park bench, and the fountain!
Our goal is neutrality with a focus on handler engagement and he’s doing awesome!
Coming in hot!! 😎☀️ Longer days and warmer weather are reminding us that Spring Break and Summer Vacation are approaching fast! If you want your dog’s behavior summer-ready, make sure to get them signed up before all spots are taken! 🐾🐶
🎓 For our graduates - If you have spring break or summer trips planned, reserve a boarding spot for you dog! It’s the perfect way to maintain or touch up their training while you’re away!
Send us a message if you’re interested!
He’s a little Potato!!!
A big thank you to everyone who suggested names and voted!! Y’all are the best!
I’ll be posting along Potato’s journey to becoming a service dog so make sure to follow! 🦮🐾❤️

Buddy graduated his 3-Week Training Program today! Check out this highlight of what he learned during his stay with us ❤️
If your pup seems a bit out of control, don’t let those bad behaviors become bad habits! Enroll them in a training program where they can learn invaluable life skills.
Obedience training is more than just tricks for treats. Stay helps build self-control. Place helps develop patience and a calm mindset. Down helps with settling in different environments. Sit helps discourage the choice to jump up. And come builds engagement in you.
Obedience training not only helps your dog become a well-rounded family member but it can do so much more for your relationship with them as well ❤️
Training session at the park with Bella the Great Pyrenees! Bella had been struggling with some reactivity toward strangers (dogs and people) on walks. She has come so far and I can’t wait to watch her grow even more over our last couple weeks together before she graduates!
Happy Monday! Our weekend with Bella and Cholula was a wonderful one! These two ladies are ready to start practicing in more challenging situations 👍
When Lula checked in for her B&T program last week, it was clear that she did not trust me one bit. Now, we’re able to play and have very productive training sessions ❤️❤️❤️
Walter goes home tomorrow!! We’re so excited for his graduation lesson with his owners!
How to Teach Your Dog to Give Kisses for Valentine’s Day!
Step 1: Teach your dog to boop their nose to your hand.
Step 2: Raise your hand to your lips or cheek so they target that area.
Step 3: Fade out your hand and add a cue such as “gimme a kissy” or “give kisses”.
Step 4: Generalize the trick to different environments. Have fun!
Note: Some dogs may need the steps broken down further into baby steps.
Disclaimer: This is a trick and not a great idea for all dogs haha! O’Malley can get a little enthusiastic but I don’t mind. If you have a dog that gets chompy or is too pushy, you may want to give this trick a pass. But it’s up to you! Just beware that you are indeed teaching your dog to target your face with their muzzle. So it may also not be a good idea to teach this if you have small kids or someone who would not enjoy this trick. Know your boundaries and make decisions accordingly.
Nova was sooooo happy to see her family today! Their graduation lesson went wonderfully and Nova quickly picked up on listening to her owner’s directions. They’re already a great team and we’re so excited for their future together!
Churchill practiced his obedience skills in Marietta Square for the first time during his training program! We’ll be back to practice more because practice equals progress!
Training session with Churchill! At just 6 months old, he has much to learn but he’s getting a head start in our Bootcamp Board & Train Program. We’re already so excited about his progress and it’s only his second week!
O’Malley is learning his placement for loading up in his new doggie backpack from Little Chonk!
Just 2 short sessions and he’s already starting to get it!
Benelli is making great strides in just 2 weeks! Only one week left to go with him then he’ll be off on new adventures with his family.
