Twelve years ago, I remember sitting by the phone hoping it would ring. I would rush to fit dogs in the same day and pray for a full week of appointments—honestly, even a full day. Looking back now, it’s hard to believe how far we've come together.
As I write this, I am booked solid through late July, and I truly cannot put into words how grateful I am for every single one of you. Your trust, loyalty, referrals, support, and friendships have helped build Dirty Dog Grooming into what it is today. Many of you have been with me through multiple locations, life changes, new pets, and growing families. Some of you have even become dear friends along the way.
One thing I've learned about myself is that I'm a people pleaser. I genuinely care about my clients and their pets, and because of that, I often stretch myself too thin, give up my days off, or try to squeeze in "just one more" dog. While my heart is always in the right place, I'm working on setting healthier boundaries so I can continue providing the best care and service possible without burning myself out.
With that in mind, I want to gently remind everyone that if at all possible, please schedule your next grooming appointment at drop-off or pick-up. Booking ahead is the best way to guarantee a spot on my schedule and keep your pet on a regular grooming routine.
Going forward, if I am unable to get someone in within a reasonable timeframe and they have not pre-booked, I may begin referring some appointments to the other two groomers in the shop who are currently building their clientele. They are both wonderful groomers, and I feel confident recommending them.
This applies only to full grooming appointments. Bath and nail appointments are usually much easier to work into the schedule on shorter notice, and I completely understand that those can be harder to predict. You're always welcome to book those ahead as well, but we can typically accommodate them much more quickly.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for supporting my small business for the last almost 13 years. I wouldn't be here without you, and I am incredibly thankful for the trust you place in me to care for your pets.
