EWDC 2023 Fall Trial
Another AS Trial in the books for Empire WDC.
It’s always nice when dog sport enthusiasts from outside the club come to trial with us. While outsiders will always be welcomed, one thing we can’t do, control the weather. Unfortunately, the weather was kind of harsh for this time of the year. Hopefully you can come back and join us in June of 2024
Empire is very thankful that Joeri Veth was able to judge our trial. Joeri was committed to helping out at the IFR but rearranged his schedule enabling him to fly back in time to judge for us.
Empire is also grateful that Timothy Vaillancourt was able to once again test our dogs in Phase C. While you can expect power/pressure from Tim when you trial at Empire, Tim always strives to balance that with keeping all the dogs safe out there. We also want to thank Jay Slocum from The Schutzhund Club of Buffalo for coming to our trial as well. We hope to see more of him in the future. And, to our good friend Magdalena!!!! We can not thank you enough for all the amazing pictures. That was a real treat for all the competitors.
As for our club members, I know many of you did not receive the outcome you were hoping for in Phase A, except for Michael with that big 100. However, you should be very proud of those obedience and protection routines. Really great work. At the end of the day, you are all the epitome of great sportsmanship like conduct.
In closing, Empire wishes to send a big congratulations to everyone that got out there and trialed. Especially those BT teams and the two teams that passed and obtained their AS1 titles.
1. Congratulations to Kaleigh Moffatt and Figment for not only achieving their AS1 but for also taking home High AS1, High Phase B and High in Trial. For those who may not be aware, Figment is an exceptional Border Collie with a ton of heart.
2. Congratulations to Empire’s Courtney O’Donnel and Quinn for achieving their AS1 as well as High
Phase A and High Phase C Courtney and Quinn make a

Empire Strong!!!!!!
At every AS National, the organization will welcome those members who achieve their AS3, into the AS3 Club. Here’s a little clip of three of Empire WDC’s members (Debbie Zappia, Jody Potter and Tim Vaillancourt) who made it this year.
This was another amazing event coordinated by Joeri Veth. You could see and feel the excitement, enthusiasm and camaraderie.
