If you want to keep your vet happy here’s a few things you don’t try to do after 9 pm on any night: trim toenails on your dog. Put dollar store flea meds on your cat. Call in that your pet has been sick or throwing up for three days but now it’s an emergency. We vets are people who work the next morning and may have families or others that need us to stay sane and happy 😊

Some of the most important things for the most humane care of your dog and to save you money in the long run is to keep their vaccinations up and get them spayed or neutered. Most shelters are full and there’s nowhere to go with them. And it’s spring, so Parvo can be abundant, especially in shelters. if you suddenly lose your job, your house or what not your dogs are going to be most easily adopted if it’s well-trained vaccinated and spayed.

The Animal Health Center of Marion County is seeking a hard working, trustworthy, responsible individual for kennel help. Must be 16 years of age or older. Must have a valid drivers license to get to and from the job. This is a part time job with typical hours from 3:30 to 5:00 several times per week and must be able to work weekends. Duties include leash walking dogs, cleaning kennels, removing animal waste, caring for cats, sweeping and mopping the floors, and light dusting. Please come in for an application at 119 S. Coble in Marion.

Once again, Animal Health Center is closed as a two this afternoon and the office will reopen at 8 o’clock on Monday. Only one of my staff could get in to man in the office. Dr. Erwin and I kind of worked it by ourselves for a while today. Stay safe out there.

We apologize but our office will be closed again today. Veterinarians are available for emergencies. I have to appreciate my staff, many of them live away out of town and or have small kids so it’s easier and safer for us to manage that by being closed with the weather being so bad. Due to inclement weather this afternoon and serious snow risk coming in tonight we will have the office closed this afternoon and tomorrow morning and plan to have the office reopen tomorrow afternoon at 1 PM. We will still have veterinarians available for emergencies Be safe!

Jingles is a sweet male kitten who is looking to be adopted! We believe he is about 10 weeks old, he has been dewormed and had his first round of vaccinations. Please come down to the clinic to meet him or call 6203828800 if interested!
