Woo Hoo! One UFO finished! Think I started this like 20 years ago. Took it camping to Sand Lake. The adorable one hooked my sewing machine up to a battery and I’d sit at the campsite sewing while they were out tearing around on the sand with the 4wheelers! All the other wives/moms walking by were jealous! 🤣

Anyway…finished is good!! Even if it is 20 years later! And our bed was due for a new quilt!

Hey people! The “retail” end of The Quilted Hill has been closed for nearly a decade, as well as the website for ordering.

Twice today, I have gotten PayPal payments from people trying to order a “It’s a Dogs Life” book...somehow my old website is coming up when they are googling where to buy it....which baffles me since the website has been closed nearly a decade....ahhh, technology...don’t we just love it!

Anyway, hopefully you read this before ordering anything from The Quilted Hill!

Quilts for Cops is a 501c3 that makes and sends quilts to First Responders injured in the line of duty...nationwide.

Because of COVID19, we had to cancel our bi-annual “Sew Day” which makes us a huge number of quilt tops in one day. Needless to say, we are really running short on quilt tops.

If you are quarantined and would like to help a great cause, we could certainly use some quilt tops! We long arm finish them, so you don’t have to worry about that.

Tops should be gender neutral if possible. Most of our recipients are male. They need to be 60-64” wide x 80-84” long. No bigger please as then they don’t fit into flat rate boxes. They don’t have to be real intricate or complex, whatever you want to do.

We have many on our waiting list, and like I said, we’re running out since our groups haven’t been able to sew together. Any help would be appreciated! 😊

Hi Everyone! Well, the home build here in Montana is taking longer than we anticipated so sadly, we are not in our new home. I do however, have my long-arm machine set up in a tiny insulated corner of our shop!

I’ve been busy, busy, busy quilting for my non-profit Quilts for Cops!
The gals in Oregon keep everything going on that end and have been sending me big boxes of quilt tops, which I finish and ship out to our recipients from here!

For those that don’t know, Quilts for Cops sends beautiful hand made quilts to our Nations First Responders who are injured in the line of duty. We stay VERY busy trying to keep up with sending these heroes something that we hope they find much comfort in during their recovery. Once we get settled in a new house (instead of 512 sq. Ft. Apartment, I hope to get some quilt making volunteers recruited here in Montana as well!

In the meantime, I’ve decided to take on a few quilts for customers!
Only doing all-over freehand at this time and batting is not included, so you’ll have to provide that. Thread is included and I can do a wide variety of beautiful free hand designs such a leaves, florals, stars, swirls, water, Fire, geometrical...lots of things!

I’ll be offering a “get aquatinted” special for Montana quilters! We can also pickup and deliver to Libby and the Kalispell area!

Quilts for Cops, a non-profit organization launched last year in Oregon to give handmade quilts to first responders injured in the line of duty, sent the quilts to the Birmingham Police Department for Officers Winston Hunt and Cullen Stafford.

We make a mission to provide these handmade quilts one by one to all first responders injured in the line of duty! This Firehouse beauty is going out to Firefighter Theodore Scardino of the Webster Fire Department in New York.
On Dec. 28 they responded to a residential fire and as they arrived were shot at with a high powered rifle. Two firefighters were killed. Who shoots at Firemen?! No one does that! Anyway, a huge tragedy for a small town. This quilt being sent to help with his healing.

On November 30, 2016, a Raleigh NC officer was shot and injured.
This handsome quilt is being sent to him as he continues to heal.

One for one of our own! YCSO Deputy Steve Wilkinson was injured last week in a car crash chasing a domestic assault suspect. His wife Laurie brought him out to our workshop today so he could collect this soft, cozy flannel quilt to keep him warm during his recovery!

On December 10, 2016 in Orange, CA, Officer Sharif Muzayen was seriously injured when he was hit by drunk driver. Hoping this beautiful quilt helps in his recovery and brings him much comfort.

Been busy again. Got six to send out tomorrow plus another two if I can get the binding done! This handsome quilt is going to The Big Guy himself, Sheriff Ron Kalanquin of Lapeer County in Lapeer Mississippi. On Dec 8, 2016 he was injured when his patrol vehicle was hit head on. Relax and heal Sir.
