Looking for a family pet with some training?!

Meet Buddy. Buddy is a 5 year old mix that is looking for a home. Unfortunately, his owner was unable to take care of him due to health reasons, but committed to finding Buddy a great home, his owner’s sister sent Buddy to us for training, knowing the chances of finding him the perfect home would increase.

When Buddy first came to us, he was extremely independent and quite worried about his surroundings. He has built excellent confidence in the short time we have been working with him and has learned behaviors to follow when put into new situations or environments.

Job Title: Weekend Kennel Attendant
Location: Marion,New York

About Us:
Welcome to PROFORMANCE K9, a premier destination for dog training and boarding services. Located on a 40-acre oasis, Our facility features 8 exclusive kennel runs designed to cater to the unique needs of each dog.
We are seeking a dedicated Weekend Kennel Attendant to join our team. This role is integral to maintaining our high standards of care during weekends, ensuring all dogs are well-cared for in a safe and hygienic environment.

Shift Details: Part Time (15-20hours)
• Friday: 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM
• Saturday: 7:00 AM - 12 PM / 3:00-8:00 PM
• Sunday: 7:00 AM - 12 PM / 3:00- 8:00 PM

More opportunities/hours available based on the need of supporting the owner head-trainer)

Responsibilities:
• Ensure timely feeding and watering of all dogs according to their dietary needs.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kennels and exercise areas.
• Monitor and report on the health and behavior of dogs.
• Administer medications as required.
• Provide regular exercise and interaction to keep dogs active and engaged.
• Assist with grooming tasks such as bathing and brushing.
• Manage pet check-ins and check-outs during weekend hours.
• Communicate effectively with pet owners to update them about their dog’s status.

Requirements:
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prior experience in animal care or kennel maintenance preferred.
• Ability to handle dogs of various sizes and temperaments safely.
• Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
• Commitment to working assigned weekend shifts.

Just saw in my memories that March 13th in K9 Veterans Day. So here is a photo dump of Sage R797 from Afghanistan 2013. I think about this guy all the time and frequently tell stories about him. On Tuesday, I completed my first apprentice judging assignment under Katie Schwarzwaelder. I was lucky enough for this judging assignment to also be hosted by Joeri Veth. Between the two of them, I picked up a wealth of knowledge when it comes to judging. I was also able to step in to do the helper work for the helper that was also entered in the trial. I believe, wholeheartedly, in the path of American Schutzhund and will continue to support the organization in any way possible. I’m looking forward to my next apprenticeship at Theresa Currier’s club next month under judge Griff!
