Thank you to all who serve and have served.

Cabela's doing it up right. Another reason they are our favorite (besides always being welcoming to dogs and dog trainers).

Quiet Friday on the trail but the work week isn't over. The rest of the day will be spent preparing for our Forrest School professional workshop at in Westhampton, MA. We'll have the whole crew out and we're excited to spend the weekend with some amazing people and dogs.

We finished our hike in record time this morning so we made a lap around the field.

Archie decided maybe Henry is big enough now to try a little play.

Henry is now fast, fast! So fast that Curri had to do a little maneuvering to outrun him. Wow!

Pros, show your work. Be proud of your work. Talk about how you do your work. And why you do your work.

I want people and dogs to have access to nature together in a way that's fun for both. Dogs' off leash nature access is one hundred percent in the hands of their people. If it's fun, they'll take them out. It's only fun if it's not scary or embarrassing or otherwise punishing for the human.

Dogs need freedom. People need control. People can have the level of control they need through training of both the person and the dog.

The control of the down stay along the trail is helpful for many things, namely self regulation around things the dogs will need to not mess with, like dogs on leash passing them.

Yes, most are wearing e collars and if you want to make that tool part of proofing your down stay, that's fine with me, but the way I teach it is with lots of reinforcement for holding the down, verbal feedback, withholding reinforcement, and getting put back for breaking, and a marker and release system that they all understand well.

I am very proud to have this group of dogs, including a puppy, trained to this level.

Being familiar with wearing a muzzle is important for many reasons that you can read about other places.

What I'll say is that we teach life skills at Forrest School, we do it in a group, we do it in real life contexts, we make it fun, and we get the job done and get back to doing dog stuff.

It is so important for some dogs to have a high intensity outlet and often bikejoring scratches that itch just right.

Really great run for these pups today!
