FYI: The next 4-6 weeks is mating season for coyotes. Please do not let your dogs out alone. The coyote gets your dog to chase him and then somewhere in the distance the pack waits for your dog. Then the outcome is tragic as they can & will attack/kill your pets. Just be aware it can happen to your beloved pet. {Coyote breeding typically peaks in late February and early March, the gestation period averages 58 to 63 days. Male coyotes can become more aggressive during this time of year, the long and short of it all is that coyotes always pose a risk to your dog (and other small pets). That risk increases during mating season. If you have issues feel free to contact us.

There are endless stories of off-leash dogs and fights breaking out.

There are so much dangerous ideas being thrown around the internet. Such as pick up back legs, fingers in eyes, shout & kick, stick things in dogs mouths etc. Whilst some of these can work the risk of you being bitten by redirection becomes much higher. ...

Watching a retriever’s natural instinct kick in, with all of our foundation we have worked on (and keep working on) come together.

Blu has been here for a board & train and now he’s here for the month to keep working.
Blu is just a puppy.
6.5 months old.
Look at what consistency and Blu knowing what’s expected out of him does!
Mad props to his family for putting in the work. This is a Superior Dog.

I’m beyond blessed and f*cking lucky for the care my animals receive. Beyond that I’m treated with exceptional care, me…
I’m comforted and have never felt rushed while I’m in the clinic ~ for whatever reason(s)…

20+ years I never knew what I was missing. One day, because I was advocating for my best friend and wanted a second opinion- stars aligned and I met the vet that changed everything.
I know not everyone needs or expects a certain level of care for their animals. I’m aware not everyone needs to be hugged and comforted in those “hard” check ups. I never knew I needed it either till I met her ❤️ knowledgeable (AF) kind, honest and passionate about her level of care.
Not a day goes by where I don’t feel gratitude for my vet(s) and her clinic. Stuga North Veterinary Care thank you for all you do! From the front of house to my final goodbyes, you’ve forever changed my opinion on what it means to receive veterinary care for my animals and myself.

“Only high-fives, not goodbyes” are wise words a dear friend of mine once shared ❤️
Thank you for allowing me into your homes. For being the absolute best. For being my people.
A new chapter has started for my family, for Superior Dog this means giving high-fives and graciously sending my love to you all as I turn the page.
The tears shed and the tears to come as I process all of my beautiful memories of all the dogs in all years… whew ❤️ with all of you!
Remember to always be the person your dog thinks you are. The world needs it.

We hope you’re finding the time to enjoy the dog days of summer ❤️ acres of private property on the beautiful Chocolay River not only allows Superior Dogs to be off leash and safe ~ we also get to enjoy these moments together as a pack deserves to!

Hey! We heard there’s a trainer claiming they’re the only “certified” dog trainer in the entire Upper Peninsula!
False.
However, I’d encourage you to research what it means to be “certified”… you can literally become “certified” overnight as a dog trainer.
While I’ve taken certifications, yes I’m “fear free” and yes, I’ve taken other courses… frankly (as y’all know I’m always transparent AF) they are not the reason I help you and your pup get the results you’re seeking ❤️
That comes from a lifetime of experiences. It comes from applying all those moments along the way, from all the dogs over the years to showing up for each one of you, as you need me to.
It comes from the beautiful gift I was given, to bridge that gap between you & your pup(s).
It does not and will never be accredited to modules I read/tested on via the internet.
I figured I’d clear the air on this one 😉 so if you’re wondering ‘is this trainer certified?’
Yes. I am.
Do I live in the Upper Peninsula? Yup!
Will I show up and help support you and guide you through this journey? Yup!
No certificate will replace all the experiences I’ve had and continue to get❤️
