There have been questions lately about monoclonal antibodies (librela, cytopoint, solensia) and their use and safety in our patients.
Extensive international research in these treatments over the last decade+ has proven their overall efficacy and safety. In our personal years of use, we have been very pleased with the clincal results we have witnessed.
Monoclonal antibodies are used for a variety of purposes. They can be lifesaving in infectious diseases like parvovirus, fight itchiness driven by allergies, or target pain and inflammation related to arthritis.
We carefully evaluate every case and monitor routine labwork and physical exams to help determine which cases would potentially have the best response to these treatments.

Our team is always on top of things, but sometimes mistakes happen.

We would like to take a moment to express a sincere apology to clients who called with an emergency this past weekend. As you know, Stuga North has enjoyed partnerships with Gwinn-Sawyer Veterinary Clinic and Animal Medical Center for sharing emergency on-call duty. It came to our attention Sunday afternoon that our phone system was not changed at the end of the day on Friday to properly direct clients as our doctors were not on call this weekend.

We greatly appreciate that other clinics in the area were able to assist patients who required emergency care. And we appreciate grace from our clients in understanding.

Happy Halloween! 🐶🐱🎃👻 Have fun, be safe, and protect your loot of treats from those tricky canine and feline ghouls!

This is the story of the bravest puppy. Blu (previously known as Bandit) has finally settled into his forever home. He was born one of fourteen pups with a deformed, nonfunctional leg and half the size of his siblings. We waited until he was the strongest (little) patient at 4.3 pounds to amputate his leg. He was such a trooper during a very precarious surgery. We are so happy to see how well he is doing at almost double his weight today for his staple removal. You’re our boy, Blu! 💙🐶

Due to the forecasted second wave of this two-storm snow system, we will be closing at 4:00 in order to give our team a head-start on a safe commute home. Stay safe and enjoy the snow! ❄️🐶 #marquettemichigan

Mondays, amirte?! Rusty here is a bit extra sleepy thanks to the antihistamine we prescribed to relieve his symptoms from an allergic reaction. This time of year it’s fairly common to see a spike of patients with allergic reactions. As pet owners, be sure to watch for hornets, spiders, and allergies as potential causes. #stuganorth #veterinarymedicine
