🐶Where are you from: Originally from Columbus, Ohio. Moved to Gwinn a couple years ago and never looked back! MQT is home 💗

🐾Do you have any pets?: I have 3! My 15 & 8 year old cats, Lola & Lucky, and my 1.5 year old puppy, Odie! 🥰

🐶How long have you been at Poets? Almost 7 months now!

🐾What sections of the building do you work in? I’m a bather through and through! 🙂

🐶What's your favorite part about working with dogs? Honestly, most things are my favorite part about working with dogs, but I love getting to know the pups and giving them a positive experience! My heart melts a little when I see a nervous pup get through their bath bravely with lots of tail wags and kisses 🥹

🐾Favorite dog breed(s): I’ve been partial to Shepherds and Huskies since I was a kiddo!

🐶What is your favorite thing about Marquette?: The focus on the outdoors and slower-paced lifestyle.

🐾Hobbies: You can find me hiking all the trails, soaking up the sun on the beach, vacationing with my husband, and relaxing with a good book & a yoga sesh! Spending quality time with my babies trumps it all 🤍

🐾Do you have any pets?: YES! I have a 2 yrs old Shih Tzu, his name is Johnny Depp!
🐶How long have you been at Poets? 8ish months! 🤔
🐾What sections of the building do you work in? You are likely to get a reminder call for your pet's grooming appt from me while I work the front desk on the grooming side! I'm starting to work with the dogs in boarding, which has been great!
🐶What's your favorite part about working with dogs? I love each and every connection I build with the dogs. I have been working with dogs for almost 10 years, and now, having the opportunity to spend even more time with all breeds has been very rewarding.
🐾Favorite dog breed(s): Pugs!! I'm a sucker for a squish face! I have grown up with small dogs my whole life, so I love seeing the terriers, poms, and other small breeds come in and leave with the cutest teddy bear cut! ✂️🐻
🐶What is your favorite thing about Marquette?: Lake Superior and the thriving Anishnaabe culture.
🐾Hobbies: If you can't find me hanging out with a dog, I am either binging Netflix, cooking/baking, and/or spending time with my big family!

🐾What sections of the building do you work in? Usually either daycare with the little dogs/daycare check in counter or Boarding

🐶What's your favorite part about working with dogs? I love learning what their personalities are like and what kind of quirks they have. Building relationships with them is always so rewarding for me, and it makes me so happy when they get excited to see me

🐾Favorite dog breed(s): I love hunting dogs! Labs, German Shorthaired Pointers, Vizslas, and also any Mastiff breeds

🐶What is your favorite thing about Marquette?: The seasons, I really like the variety of weather throughout the year

🐾Hobbies: Anything that allows me to be creative! I’ve always loved drawing and doing hair, and I’ve recently started learning how to do digital art. More than anything, I love spending time with my 7 month old son and seeing him grow every day. There isn’t anything more rewarding or fulfilling for me than being his mom as he learns all about the world around him ❤️

🐾Where are you from: Originally from Fowlerville, MI but I moved to Marquette in 2022.
🐾Do you have any pets?: Yes, my dog Spellcaster! She’s a one year old Miniature Aussie mix and an absolute sweetie.
🐾How long have you been at Poets? Just over a year now.
🐾What sections of the building do you work in? Daycare, specifically the medium/large dogs!
🐾What's your favorite part about working with dogs? I love getting to know the regulars! It’s always nice going into work knowing that I’m going to see some of the same dogs I’m with every morning. They get so excited to see me and I get to make sure I grab their favorite toys or give them scratches in the perfect way they like! Shoutout to the Monday/Wednesday/Friday crew ❤
🐾Favorite dog breed(s): I’m a big fan of Rottweilers, Great Pyrenees, Chihuahuas, and Aussies. I’ve always wanted to own a Smooth Coated Collie.
🐾What is your favorite thing about Marquette?: Third Street. It’s really nice being able to walk from my apartment to a coffee shop or brewery, and Third Street in particular has all the best spots!
🐾Hobbies: D&D, digital art, and film production!

🐾Age: 24 (25 in September)
🐶Where are you from: Born and Raised in Marquette!
🐾Do you have any pets?: I have 2 dogs, 8 year old Boxer, Finn, and 2 year old Boxer, Flora. A kitty named Bean, a Ball Python snake named Bug, and Albino Adrian frog named pink guy, and 5 chickens!
🐶How long have you been at Poets? 4 ½ in August!
🐾What sections of the building do you work in? Alli is our Daycare Manager, helping to run the day to day operations of that side. She works mostly in daycare and boarding, with the occasional upfront little daycare shift.
🐶What's your favorite part about working with dogs? They are all my little besties❤️ I love seeing dogs build friendships with each other and the staff members. Watching the shy ones come out of their shell and have fun is the best! My heart melts for my daycare regulars that get so excited when I get in for the day ❤️
🐾Favorite dog breed(s): I'm pretty biased about the squishy kiddos. Boxers, Pitties, Danes, etc. I do love the Aussie boys too.
🐶What is your favorite thing about Marquette?: The outdoor opportunities! And the lake! But mostly the AMAZING Fall colors!
🐾Hobbies: Anything outdoors! I love camping, hiking, biking, backpacking, and hanging with my pets ❤️ I recently just completed a 35+ mile backpacking trip on Isle Royale! On a rainy day you can find me watching movies and doing puzzles.

We are looking for someone passionate about working with animals and will perform great customer service.

Experienced bather must have knowledge on handling dogs and cats in humane and safe way. Nail clipping, bathe and blow dry/out coats, ear cleaning as well as gland expression. Other responsibilities include maintaining/cleaning the bathing and cage area, taking care of equipment, tools and inventory upkeep.

Have no experience, but love animals and people? We are willing to train the right person. Qualifing applicant must be, reliable, good customer service, work well with others and eager to learn.
This job requires you to lift dogs 50 # plus.
Full and part time positions available.
Monday-Friday 8-3 or 4 pm and occasional Saturdays.
Grooming shop is closed all major holiday and Sundays. $15 hr hour plus tips on Brush and Bath dogs.

Looking for individual with Monday-Friday afternoon availability during the fall. 6-12 hrs per week.
Job includes, walking dogs on bike path of all sizes, cleaning kennels and grooming shop.
Shifts are usually after school 2:30-5:30/6 pm.

🐶What's your favorite part about working with dogs? My favorite part is being able to create a bond with them, especially with the dogs that are very scared/nervous about being bathed, and making them feel more comfortable

🐶What is your favorite thing about Marquette?: The nature, I love taking my dog to the beach or for walks on trails
