Another Triggering post.
Let’s talk about dewclaws, shall we.... And why removing them is barbaric as hell.
If you’re buying from a breeder who cuts off a perfectly healthy body part just because it’s “easier” for them, run fast!
The dewclaw isn’t useless.
It’s not “extra.”
It’s functional, connected by tendons, muscles, and nerves.
It helps stabilize the wrist, grip terrain, and even aids in self grooming and chewing.
When you rip it off a days old puppy, you’re not doing them a favor, you’re permanently altering their structure, their balance, and in many cases, their future joint health.
All for aesthetics.
All for tradition.
That’s not ethical breeding. That’s mutilation.
If a breeder tells you “the vet said they don’t need them”, ask yourself......
Is this someone who deeply understands functional canine anatomy?
Or someone who follows outdated vet school protocol that’s decades behind species appropriate care?
Breeders who claim to be “health-focused” but still chop dewclaws are exposing their priorities loud and clear.
They don’t get it.
They don’t want to.
And they sure as hell don’t deserve your trust.
Dogs aren’t décor.
They’re living, breathing animals built by nature with intention.
Stop normalizing amputation for convenience.
If you want a healthy dog, start by supporting breeders who treat them like the sentient beings they are.
Where everything stays intact and nothing has harmed their immune system.

My heart is broken-
It's been three weeks and the hurt, the disbelief has just become more real.
God help me😭
I miss you SO much-
You made so many people happy.
Buster and I pray and cry together every day.
I think I'm crazy as I never dreamed it would be this hard. You filled all the empty voids in my life. I will NEVER forget the unconditional love you gave every day. You were such a blessing on this earthly life for me and many others. Jesus has to know what a loving, kind soul you carried.

You was SMART-
You was IMPORTANT-
MOMMA loved you more than all the stars in the sky and all the water in the ocean😭❤

"XERINA VOM KING CHARLES"
November 20, 2012- February 20,2025
My heart is broken and in disbelief as Xerina passed away on Thursday late evening in her sleep. This came as an extreme shock as she has done so extremely well since her big surgery in November.

Xerina was much more than just another dog. She gave birth to several litters of puppies and touched peoples lives everywhere she went. She visited nursing homes, Hospice houses and enjoyed meeting new humans everywhere she went.
She leaves behind her life partner Buster Vom King Charles who is so extremely lost and sad🥲
This came unexpected as we had gained renewed hope when Xerina did so well after her surgery.
God give me strength as the grief and loss seem unbearable.
Rest in peace my beautiful Xerina.
She was KIND-
She was SMART-
She was IMPORTANT-
SHE WAS LOVED!!!!
