Friends of Marshall Animals Friends of Marshall Animals We are not the shelter. We are a volunteer group that supports the shelter through various activities.

To reach them by phone call (903) 935-4530 but it is always better to visit in person especially if you are trying to find a lost pet or are interested in adoption. They receive new animals every day and about a third of those are pure breeds. Ado

ption fees are:

$70 for Dogs
$60 for Cats

This gives you a certificate for $4 towards rabies shots and a $50 towards the spay & neuter of canines (or $40 for felines) at your vet. A microchip is also provided, and deworming can be done at the shelter. The official MPD Animal Control page is: https://www.facebook.com/MPDAnimalControl

1. Neutered cats live longer, healthier lives, and are far less likely to fight other cats. FIV, FeLV, and other diseases are spread by cat bites sustained while fighting.

2. Neutered cats are less likely to spray. Smelly tomcat urine damages property and causes problems with neighbors and landlords.

3. Neutered cats are less likely to be trapped, dumped, or taken to a shelter. Being neutered advertises that someone cares and that they wonโ€™t be reproducing.

4. Neutered cats fight less often and less aggressively. This saves money on veterinary bills to treat abscesses and wounds.

5. Neutered cats stay closer to home. They are less likely to get lost, killed by predators, or hit by vehicles while roaming and searching for mates.

๐‘ป๐’‰๐’Š๐’” ๐’Š๐’” ๐‘ท๐’Š๐’†๐’“๐’„๐’†โ€™๐’” ๐’”๐’•๐’๐’“๐’š.

A story of hard work, dedication, and determination that can save the life of a shelter pet. Volunteers played a crucial role in his transformation, showing how their time and effort can make all the difference. Pierce was our longest resident at MPACโ€”an incredible 1 1/2 years!

Initially, Pierce struggled with anxiety and kennel stress, which made it hard for him to show his true potential in the shelter. But through committed behavior work with Connie Phillips, Pierce began to improve. He started getting along with other dogs and stopped spinning in his kennel. FOMA volunteers played a crucial role, walking him more and providing the attention and care he desperately needed. Thanks to their efforts and his heartworm test coming back negative, Pierce was tagged for rescue and headed to Sterling, Massachusetts. His journey is a perfect example of how much a shelter dog can benefit from dedicated volunteers, and how their lives can be transformed with the right support.
