Today, we celebrate an extraordinary young woman who has dedicated years of her life to saving animals in need. Skylar began her journey with Friends of Marshall Animals as a foster and volunteer, spending over three years pouring her heart into helping countless shelter pets—including taking on the challenging task of fostering parvo pups. Her dedication and passion led her to become FOMA’s first and only employee nearly a year ago, and since then, she has continued to make an incredible impact.

𝐒𝐤𝐲𝐥𝐚𝐫’𝐬 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝐭𝐨𝐮𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐬 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐜𝐨𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐰𝐞 𝐝𝐨. She coordinates life-saving transports, keeps up with shelter pets’ medical needs, trains new volunteers, and always finds a way to go the extra mile—whether it’s stepping in to foster or staying late to ensure no detail is overlooked. She’s not just a lifesaver for the animals, but also a source of knowledge, kindness, and inspiration for our entire team.

In the photo, Skylar is holding 𝐑𝐢𝐭𝐳 𝐂𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐞𝐫, an adorable and cuddly kitten who is still waiting for his forever home. Nothing would make her happier than to see him adopted by a loving family!

The Green Thumbs Up Garden Club is thrilled to host the third annual Petals & Paws Spring Fling, a lively community celebration benefiting Friends of Marshall Animals and supporting the Marshall Pet Adoption Center. This cherished event grows bigger and better each year, and we need YOUR help to make it a success!

We’re looking for enthusiastic volunteers to assist with the 𝗸𝗶𝗱 𝘇𝗼𝗻𝗲, 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝘀𝗮𝗹𝗲 𝘀𝗲𝘁𝘂𝗽, 𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘀𝗲𝘁𝘂𝗽, 𝘀𝗵𝘂𝘁𝗱𝗼𝘄𝗻, and 𝗰𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗿 𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲. No shelter training is required, and there will be a couple of pre-event meetings to ensure everyone is prepared.

Sweet Zayda enjoyed her last few days of peace before welcoming her little ones. We're happy to report that both Zayda and her babies are doing well! 🐾 This is a great reminder of the importance of spaying and neutering your pets. It helps prevent overpopulation and promotes better health for your furry friends. Let's all do our part to ensure a healthier, happier future for pets everywhere!

Make a Difference in the Lives of Shelter Animals—Volunteer at MPAC!

Are you passionate about animals and looking for a way to help? The Marshall Pet Adoption Center (MPAC) needs YOUR support to give our pets the love and care they deserve. Volunteering not only changes the lives of shelter animals—it’s fun, rewarding, and a great way to make new friends (both human and furry)!

We have a variety of opportunities to suit your skills and interests:

🐾 Cat Condo Cleaning & Care
Help start the day right for our shelter cats by assisting with feeding, litter changes, and clean, comfy bedding. Morning shifts available every day, 8:30-10:30 AM.

🐾 Dog Walking
Get active while giving dogs a much-needed break from the shelter. Walk them, learn about their personalities, and even snap some pics to help them find their forever homes. Multiple shifts Monday through Sunday.

🐾 Cat Socialization
Playtime isn’t just fun—it’s essential for a cat’s well-being! Spend time with our feline friends, helping them feel safe and loved. Multiple shifts Monday through Sunday.

🐾 Animal Enrichment
Put your creativity to work by crafting enrichment activities for our animals! Help keep their minds and bodies engaged. Shifts available daily from 11 AM-1 PM.

🐾 Facility Upkeep
Behind-the-scenes heroes are always needed! Help with laundry, dishes, and cleaning to keep MPAC running smoothly.

🐾 Office Assistant
Be the friendly face and voice that greets our visitors! Assist with calls, paperwork, and adoption follow-ups.

Other exciting opportunities include medical transport, adoption counseling, and pet photography—we’ll find the perfect fit for you!

Abel is a shy but incredibly sweet pup who’s been making wonderful progress in his journey to trust people. He's learning to walk on a leash, and though a little unsure, he’s doing his best every day. With the colder weather, Abel has found comfort in his crate, and he's almost fully crate trained—such a good boy! He’s still working on opening up, but with time and patience, he’s going to be an amazing companion for the right family. Abel needs a loving home with understanding and patient people who will give him the time and space to flourish. If you're looking to bring a gentle soul into your life, Abel is waiting to become part of your family. 🐾🐾🐾

Meet Jade! The easiest foster dog ever. She is the tan/orange colored one.

She is good with cats, dogs and even chickens. She is obedient, potty and crate trained. She will play, but prefers to be a couch potato. She does not like cold weather. 🥶

Jade is heartworm negative, but is recovering from mange. She could also stand to lose a few pounds.
