Here we go again......

Keep your dogs tied up or in the house if they don't like loud noises!!! I have seen and heard multiple dogs gone missing already due to thunder and fireworks. People start setting them off the fireworks weeks before and weeks after the 4th. Know your dogs or just plain be over safe! It's no secret ... It happens every year ...

Just a friendly reminder to my wonderful grooming clients.....at this point in my career I am still grooming because I love my clients and I know there is a huge need for groomers in Marshall. But I have another job that takes precedent. (Pays my bills). So I am only grooming now for you. I will do my best to continue for a bit ( couple years) yet but value my time when I am not working. I can only do so much in a day and will not do more. So please be patient and please don't miss your appointments. If I have to cancel due to sickness or injury (which is the only time I cancel). I won't be able to reschedule due to the quantity of dogs I am trying to help during my short time. I plan on grooming yet but have to be careful due to old injuries. As far as returning texts or calls, I will as time allows, again please be patient. I thank you for your business. Have a great day.

New policy...
The grooming hours are from 8am - 5pm Tuesdays.
I will respond to calls or text during 8-5 Monday - Friday as I have time.
I will NOT look at read or respond to any calls or texts coming in between 10pm - 8am. They will be deleted.
Please respect my time at my other job and my time at home.

Make this one small change to stop your dog’s jumping, once and for all!

Of course, you’ll have to be consistent and patient. But sometimes a little mindset shift - like how you respond when your dog wants to say hi to someone - can make all the difference!

It’s natural to feel some social pressure when you’re greeting someone, and it can feel awkward to say “hang on, we’re working on training right now, please give me a sec to show my dog how to behave in this situation…”

But if you take a few extra seconds to focus on your dog and show them the RIGHT way to greet people, instead of waiting for them to jump before you try to correct them, you’re going to make much faster progress towards polite greetings 🙌 You can do it!

Winter hint.. have a couple sets of toys for your pets. But only keep one set out at a time. After 3 months bring out the next set and put away the first set. 3-4 months later bring out the 3 set and put away any toys that are out. Than repeat.....This way your pet is always getting something "new"!

Ok DON'T PANIC....

As of first part of January Gentle Hands Grooming has transitioned to be Dog House Grooming (looking for different title). Everything is still the same. I just work for Kary now!!

All HW fencing and tanks are clearance prices also. Making room for new stuff. Grab it while it's still there. This includes gates, walk thrus, and panels.

This is at Runnings. Good quality kennel can be used inside or outside. This is the last one grab it while you can. There are also gray 10 foot panels clearanced in the fenced in area.

Grooming clients!!
There is a new strain of a respiratory sickness that is making dogs very very very ill and could cause worse. With this being said my policy going forward is:
If your dog doesn't absolutely need to be groomed cancel your appt.
If your dog has been with other dogs outside of your immediate family dogs cancel your appointment
If your dog has gone to boarding or daycare in the last few weeks cancel your appointment.
If your dog isn't eating, has diarrhea, fever, runny eyes or nose any coughing cancel your appointment
If I see any of these symptoms when dog comes in I will send you home with your dog. Dog will not be allowed to stay with me
This illness is no joke and should be taken seriously.
Please consult your vet with any concerns or questions.
Grooming isn't worth it. They can wait until next time when this illness passes.
As always I'm here to help and make changes as needed if possible.

Grooming Clients!! Please send me dates for 2024. I don't have time to make dates for everyone this year so please send me dates 2024 (2023 is full) for when you want your pups to get groomed. Also I am getting a lot of phone calls from new clients because Marshall lost another groomer. I can only hold spots for so long! Hurry please!!

Something on my mind....
Recently Zak George (trainer/behaviorist) has been fighting to stop a dominance trainer that uses adverse training methods such as choke holds, shock treatments, muzzles inappropriately, and worse. These methods are out of date and just plain abusive. None of these methods get to the problem of the naughty behavior, more than likely they will excel it into worse behaviors.
Why am I bringing this up?
Because it has come to my attention that there are trainers in MN and our area that are using these out of date methods.

So when finding and using dog trainers do your research. Ask them what method they use and how do they achieve the goals you have set up.

There is a difference between training (sit, down stay, come) issues and behavior issues (anxiety , separation , eating the couch)
There are different methods to each of these categories.
Do you research people!!
Using the wrong method on the wrong behavior can cause problems to become worse.
