🌧️❄️ Rain, shine, ice, or snow—nothing stops us from taking care of our furry friends at Paws & Play! 🐾 Your pups are our top priority, and we’re here to make sure they’re loved, safe, and happy.

As an extra bonus we brought along some tasty, locally homemade pup goodies from Em’s Homemade Dog Treats and will be treating pups to extra special goodness throughout this holiday season.

Thanksgiving is over and talk has now turned to Christmas!

We have had more inquiries on Christmas availability than we have available dens remaining for that time frame. Don’t wait to make those Christmas and New Years reservations!

As a reminder holiday and spring break boarding require a 50% deposit to reserve. Thank you for your understanding and support!

While I have you, here are some facts on how we handle group play in our facility. 😁

Dogs whose parents opt them in for group play and are eligible per state guidelines all go through an evaluation during their initial stay with us.

The first day with us in boarding or day camp for each new pup is used to get to know them and their individual personalities and play styles. We then determine if the pup is approved for group play and what play group they fall into by size and temperament.

Some dogs are more run, play, ruff & tumble, and some dogs prefer a quieter social sniff session. 🎾 🥏🌸

Updates here at Paws & Play! 🐾

Starting Monday November 4th, we will have slightly different hours. This is to allow Tyler to devote more attention to the pups and their care. We of course understand there will be an adjustment period to the new schedule. 😊

We are thrilled to announce that we can now offer cat boarding on a limited basis. We have a cozy 2-cat “condo” and a spacious 3-cat “townhome” to give your feline friend(s) a comfortable stay with us.

We have also introduced a $20 charge for drop-offs or pickups outside of the designated windows as folks arriving outside of the scheduled timeframe impacts the schedule for the dogs and ourselves.

Thank you everyone for all your support over our first year of being open and look forward to your continued support!

In light of extremely high numbers of animals going to shelters, news of animal cruelty and neglect, Iowa’s shameful distinction of being the state with the third largest number of puppy mill breeders in the country, the Heart of Iowa Kennel Club will welcome Tom Colvin, Executive Director of the Animal Rescue League of Iowa to their meeting on Monday, November 4 at 7:00 PM at the Family Pet Center in Marshalltown.

The program and meeting are free and open to the public. The Club meets at the Family Pet Center which is located at the corner of Iowa Avenue West and Parker Avenue. For more information on the meeting or the club call 641-750-2862, email [email protected] or follow the club on Facebook.

With November right around the corner that means the holiday season is quickly approaching. 🦃 🎄

Have you made your pet’s boarding reservations yet? 🐶 Limited availability remains for both Thanksgiving and Christmas. Call, email, or book directly using KennelBooker.

Additionally, are your pets current on their vaccinations? State law requires all pets be current on Rabies and Distemper/Parvo. We require the Bordetella vaccine. 💉
