This holiday season, playtime got a little brighter for our shelter dogs! Thanks to Lee Ann Hernandez's thoughtful idea and the support
of our amazing volunteer and staff who stayed late to make this happen on Christmas Eve. Our dogs had the chance of picking out their own toys for Christmas! For many, it is one of the few introductions to toys and play. Moments like these remind us of why we do what we do. Together, we can continue to make a difference. Happy holidays from The Animal Rescue League
of Marshalltown!♥️💚🎄
Marilyn is our holiday hero! Twice a week, she makes sure every pup gets outdoor time, while we work on important skills like leash training, polite greetings, and more while spreading holiday cheer to the pups waiting for their forever homes!!! Ready to volunteer? Schedule an orientation today by emailing [email protected]!

Tennessee is one of our small dogs currently at the shelter! She is 8 years old. She is a chihuahua/Greyhound mix who is looking for someone to cuddle her! Kix Critter of the week:
We have a few furry friends who arrived in 2023 waiting to find their forever homes.
Kilo has been a previous Kix Critter of the week. He is a 4-year-old German Shepherd who has been waiting patiently for his perfect match. Kilo came to us after his previous home couldn’t provide tbe space he needed. This energetic boy is not the biggest fan of cats. While in foster care, Kilo excelled in leash and obedience training, proving he is both smart and eager to learn. However, he can be cautious around unfamiliar men, so a family willing to build trust at his pace would be ideal. Kilo thrives in an active environment and is looking for a family that can keep up with his energy and zest for life. His adoption fee covers his neuter, vaccinations, microchip, heartworm test, and additional treatments. We are open Tuesday through Friday from 11-5 p.m. and Saturday from 11-4 p.m.
Big tails, big smiles, and even bigger milestones!
For the first time ever, our shelter dogs got to enjoy a playdate together, running free, and making friends. Watch them leap, play, and thrive in a space filled with love and hope. This is what progress and teamwork look like! Milestones like these wouldn’t be possible without supporters like you! Shoutout to our kennel staff: Ella and Shannon ✨
