This helps to explain what I mean when I say if a horse (or human) has a trauma it will stay with them until steps are take to release the trauma. I've seen it time and again make a huge difference in behavior and body balance.
TRAUMA AND ENERGY WORK
Since quite a few people on a private bodywork page asked me to make this post shareable, I thought I might as well put it on my own page 🙈
Here is why I recommended reiki and acupressure to a horse that experienced any kind of trauma, no matter the age at which it happened.
When we experience trauma, the only role of the brain is storage of memory and whatever the senses experienced at the time. The actual trauma and the energy associated with it, is stored in the lower parts of the nervous system and the body. The reason for that is simple: time. If you experienced a dangerous situation, it would take too long for your senses to experience it again, then send it to the brain and then let the brain react and send a message to the rest of the body. If the unprocessed emotional energy is in the lower parts of NS, it reacts automatically without consulting the brain, therefore saving energy and time.
The way the cells have been affected due to trauma, will be stored in the energy centres (chakras) and the meridians (acupressure). When you work on the meridians, you restore the correct energy flow along the body, including reprogramming of the nervous system. So you remove the energetical charge that the trauma caused, letting the body know that it is not in danger anymore.
Another important point to note is that, when your horse has experienced trauma, the body still thinking it is in danger, limits the function of the brain. So when you have a highly sensitive horse, it is almost pointless to try and train it without removing the trauma from the body first. I know a lot of people will disagree with me on this, because it is possible to get results with this eventually, and I have seen proof of it. However, you will be doing yourself and your horse a massive favour if you reset the nervous system first. In this way, you are not conditioning the dragon that’s inside your horse to listen and hope that it will not explode at some point. In this way, you’re actually removing the dragon.
