We had an incredible week at Head of the Bay! Thank you, Grazing Fields Farm, for organizing a fantastic show. Andrea Guatemala and Holland Express had a great week, winning the championship in their large division. They navigated through the thunder, lightning, and pouring rain on course without missing a beat. ⚡️⚡️
Desiree Rowell’s daughter Savvanna, and her new pony Splash Attack made there debut in the lead line class earning themselves reserve champion. And lots of fun prizes. 🐴

A small stab in the heart is what you feel when you put up the day's riding list and you see riders sinking heavily in their shoulders when reading which horse they are assigned for the lesson. A small stab in the heart for that horse that for an hour will carry around a rider who has already decided that he does not like his horse. A small stab in the heart for the horse that did not choose the rider himself but still does his best, lesson after lesson.

Riding is a privilege and something you have chosen to do. If you chose to ride at a riding school, your instructor assumes that you actually want to learn how to ride. The instructor's highest wish is that you get good at it.

Often there is a plan and a thought as to why you are assigned to that exact horse. Before you mount up next time, ask yourself "what can this horse teach me today?" All horses have something to give, a feeling or a new tool in the box.

The art is actually in being able to get a lazy horse to move forward, to get an uncertain horse to gain confidence, a naughty horse to focus or a tense horse to be released. It takes work. If you think a horse is boring, it's more likely that you don't ride the horse as well as you think! It's not easy to be confronted with your own shortcomings, but it is in that very situation that you get the chance to truly grow as a rider.

The excuse that "it's not my kind of horse" is actually a really bad excuse. A good rider can ride any kind of horse. A good rider has trained many hours on different types of horses to become a good rider. A good rider can find and manage the gold nuggets in every horse.

If we absolutely want to ride, it is our duty to strive to do it as best as possible, even if it's only for fun. We owe it to every horse that carries us upon it's back.

We had a fabulous 2 weeks at Fieldstone. Here’s a short recap on our two weeks.
Congratulations to all our students for achieving all there goals.
⭐️ Sophi Ashworth riding her horse Wishmaker 🐓 Champion as well as Reserve Champion in the .85 & .90 meter jumpers.
⭐️Desiree Rowell riding her horse Bonne Chance 🍀 putting in smooth trips with great results In the .65 and .75 meter
⭐️Maddison Coulstring and her very new mount My Dark Hero 🥷found themselves Champion as well as reserve Champion in Short stirrup Hunters and Equitation. Thank you to Monica Hunt for making this happen on short notice
⭐️McKinnon Coulstring riding her pony Gone Fishing 🎣 won her Championship Class Walk Trot.
⭐️Andrea Guatemala on her very new horse Holland Express we’re second in the special Hunter flat and had great ribbons over fences out of a very large group. So excited for this new youngster!
⭐️Mari Winkler on the most special horse MTM Worth It were first the special hunter flat out of a large group.

We also had lots of fun and great results In the jumper ring with Sophie Ashworth riding her horse Wish Maker🐓and Desiree Rowell on her horse Bonne Chance🍀 I am so grateful for our team❤️

June first week at Fieldstone was a great success!!
McKinnon Coulstring made her debut in the walk trot division on her pony Ivy Green with fantastic results!! She says walk trot is a whole lot more fun than leadline!! We are all so proud of you McKinnon!!!
Madison Coulstring also had a great first week piloting Ivy Green around the short stirrup with great results topping her day off with the winning score of 81 In the first ever FS short stirrup derby, showing off her handy work for the win!! So proud of both of you. Very excited for next week!! Also want to say Happy Fathersday to the best horse show dad!! Your support for your girls passion is admirable!
