My favorite part of my job is being able to watch these kids grow up over the years! Seeing them go from barely fitting into the stirrups to being taller than me always takes an adjustment! 🥹 However I love looking back on old pictures and videos of when they first started and seeing their progress! I always try and describe it to people about how he acts before we run and this video starts to show it a bit! Pimento is so hyper focused on his job! When we are preparing to go he is watching all the other horses go in, where they are turning, and you can see him turn his ear back to listen to what’s going on behind him and then back to focusing on the barrels. I’m always in awe by how smart he is and how he is able to focus on his task. It’s crazy to me how he can have his head low and relaxed in warm up and then as soon as we line up his entire body and demeanor changes and he just locks in to the other horses and the pattern! Shout out to Pimento for always taking care of me even when he is a bit spicy!🌶️
