In early September, we picked up a pair of CH kittens from the San Jose shelter — two wobbly kittens we thought were the last of their litter. What we didn’t know was that they had a third sibling… one who’d already been adopted.
Fast forward to last week, when we got an unexpected message from their former foster.
Their adopter wanted to rehome her because they “didn’t have time for her.” 🙄
Let’s be clear: CH cats aren’t disposable. They aren’t burdens. They are differently-abled, bright, loving souls who deserve commitment and a forever home that won’t give up when life gets inconvenient.
So we didn’t hesitate for even a second. We said yes. Of course we’d take her. Of course she deserved better.
✨ Meet Samba — the sweet, wobbly sister of our CH boy, Jitterbug.
Just like her brother, she has mild to moderate cerebellar hypoplasia. Jitterbug found his forever family while he was with us. And now… it’s her turn.
Despite being failed by the person she trusted and loved, Samba is gentle. She’s trusting. She’s resilient in the quietest, bravest way. And she’s ready for the person or family who will hold her close and never let her down again.
She’s safe. She’s loved. And from this moment on, she’ll never be treated like anything less than the precious life she is. ❤️
