Our 'Pet Community Board' sign arrived today!
I think it looks perfect on the massive magnet board we installed at the entrance section of the store. ❤️
We are in talks with Belmont County Animal Shelter to hopefully feature some of their adoptable pets.
We would also like to invite everyone interested to post their animal related news there.
We've got plenty of space, magnets, and dry-erase markers.
We hope to help lost pets find their way home and homeless pets meet their perfect human match. 🥰

Check out our latest deluxe cat tree!
Cheer bliss, especially for multiple kitties. With all those cozy lounge spots, there won't be any arguing over space.
It stands 68" tall and is a bit wider than the ones we previously had.
I spent longer than I care to admit putting it together yesterday, but at least my pup seemed to enjoy himself. 🥰

We FINALLY have the Orbee-Tuff Sport baseballs in stock.
I ordered 4, but one met its fate before I could hang it on the shelf. (Could you say 'No' to that face? They're his favorites!)
The Orbee balls are some of the bounsiest and most resilient balls out there.

We've had a few customers voice concern over the safety of our freeze-dried chicken wings.
I decided to perform a little 'disection' to get to the bottom of it.
I assure you, my pup was eager to assist. 😉

I wanted to share some of the gorgeous treats we ordered from a doggy bakery with the best name ever: Taj-Mah Hound. 🩷
My pup LOVES them. (I'm going to go broke at this rate, I just can't say 'no' to my babies.)
I was planning on laying them out decoratively, a la pinterest, but, alas, no time. Lol

I wanted to share the first load of our dog plushies & squeakies. I'm a huge fan of and . Not only are they cute, but they also live up to their reputation. 🥰
(Though I won't deny my German Shepard/Red Heeler mix does have a way of making surprising short work of even the toughest toys...little brat tore a 4" thick rope to shreds in minutes. They should pay me to have him test their prototypes. 😅)
Now I'm pretty sure you're supposed to orderly hang the toys in groups, but where's the fun in that?
Of course, if majority prefers order, I'll gladly rearrange. 👍

Don't we all LOVE set-backs. 😵‍💫
One of our pipes burst after the water was turned back on last night after Ferry's water outage.
My pup was going stir crazy during the night, but when I checked, all seemed normal, as the leak hadn't gone through the ceiling yet, so I was none the wiser of the impending trouble.
Man, if only dogs could talk....

🥳 🐯 JULY 6, 2024 🐶 🥳
I wanted to give a quick update on our progress for the grand opening of Ferry’s new pet store, The Pampered Tail.
We’re almost ready to go with inventory piling up, waiting to hit the shelves. (Seriously, there are boxes everywhere.)
Unfortunately, I severely underestimated how long it would take to organize everything and add items into the system.
I’m no stranger to setting up inventory (we used to be an anime store), but it has been a good 10 years since I last stocked an entire store from scratch and it seems I was a little optimistic on the time frame.
I was so hopeful to open May 29th, as it’s my birthday, and given this entire endeavor has been a one woman show, it would have been a special treat.
But, alas, you can’t have everything.
To make matters worse, we recently lost two of our beloved senior fur-babies. Our beautiful Sammy passed away quietly in his sleep at the ripe old age of 21, and my lovely white whale, Mira, finally lost her battle with thyroid cancer. She passed on peacefully last week, cuddled in my arms. I am still heartbroken.
I’ve debated long and hard on our firm opening date and finally decided on July 6th.
Martins Ferry is holding an Independence Day celebration that Saturday, and it seems like the perfect opportunity to introduce Ferry's newest addition to the community.
I do apologize for the run-around on our grand opening. I hope you’ll all forgive this little hiccup and join us on July 6th!
We'll have lots of yummy freebies, and your pups can try their paws on our agility equipment❣️

Showing off our doggy seesaw by Trixie. 🥰
We'll have a variety of agility equipment available in-store for your more adventurous pups (and mine) to enjoy first hand.
On account of space, we'll be rotating the agility challenges so only one will be available for play at a time.
Obviously, all featured equipment will also be for sale new in box.
The Trixie seesaw is made of pine wood, which was a real selling point for me, and has textured thermoplastic rubber on the top, providing a slip resistant surface.
It's about 10 ft in length with a plank width of 12 in and a plank pivot height of 13 in.
Supposedly, this bad boy can withstand 175 lbs, but personally, I'd recommend keeping it under 100 lbs. My little terror weighs a good 85 lbs, and we haven't had any weight related problems (he's just still a little unsure about walking the whole length).
We did add a foam noodle buffer piece under the plank ends to soften the landing. The tilt of the seesaw is nice and smooth, but the wood hitting the ground proved a bit jarring for my boy.
This piece is advertised for outdoor use, but I personally wouldn't recommend it. I don't think the wood or rubber lining would do well in our lovely weather.
Set-up was pretty simple, provided you've got a good drill at hand.
