Meet Socks. She was a good ol dog who loved to wander and beg to lick the ice cream bowl. Socks was my brother and sister’s dog and loved to play with all the kids of the family.

Today my mom had to make the very hard decision to have her put to sleep. We are very sad but know that she’s had some health issues and she won’t be in pain anymore.

It’s going to be weird not tripping over you in the kitchen.

She has been in the family for so long it’s hard to remember her not being around. So many in the P**per Pleasers family and extended family that are going to miss her to pieces.

In honor of International P**per Scooper Week we are going to be talking about why it's important to pick up your pets waste. We all know the reason it can be put off, what with with being busy working, busy with activities, busy with your own businesses, lack of wanting too...its gross and stinky and any and all reasons that include not doing it.

Here are a few reasons to be sure and clean your yard on a consistent basis whether that be daily or weekly.

Sanitation: Dog p**p is not only smelly and unsightly, it can also be a breeding ground for bacteria and parasites. These harmful microorganisms can linger in your yard for weeks, potentially contaminating soil and water sources like nearby lakes and rivers as well as your own well, and putting you and your family's health at risk.

It attracts pests: Leaving dog p**p in your yard can attract all sorts of pests, from flies to rodents. These pests can carry diseases and cause damage to your property. Plus, nobody wants a yard full of pests! Did you know that rats like to eat poo? Yuck!

It can harm your lawn: Dog p**p contains nitrogen, which can actually damage your lawn if left sitting on the grass. This can result in yellow, dead spots that can take time and money to repair. You take pride in your yard and want to be able to freely use it without worrying about a large amount of built up waste.

Whether you do it, your kids do it or you hire someone to do it, it is important to keep your lawn clean from sitting dog waste.
