We have a couple of wonderful fuzzy butts ready for adoption.

- 1 Jenny & 1 John (gelded donkey) both about 12/13y mini donkeys. Friendly. Currently housed with horses. UTD on vaccines. Must go together as they are a bonded pair.

- 13 y old mini pony about 9 hands. Loves children isn’t broke to ride but has had a couple driving lessons and appears willing and eager to learn. She will take a kid for leadline riding and adores being loved on by kids. UTD on vaccines.

We are a 5013c non-profit located in Martinsburg. Adoption application and contract required. Reach out for more questions.

A dear sweet friend of the rescue asked me for a link to help with vaccines and teeth that are highly needed so I created this link and wanted to share incase anyone else felt led to help. I still can't fully share the story because we are awaiting a few things to happen before police can press criminal charges but over $2500 was stolen from the rescue putting us in a bad spot and with non-profit your rarely in a good spot. And we just had a large vet bill last week for a sick animal (over $500). I will share the story once the police do their thing. In the meantime if anyone wants to help out with shots/teeth or if anyone has a good idea of a quick/easy fundraiser (does that exist ?) that they want to help with please let me know!! I generally just cover the gaps but we have some major personal stuff going on right now too and I am struggling to do so.

If you can't give that's fine please pray for God to bless us with enough to cover these expenses and for God to step into a couple situations that are making this nonprofit thing kick my butt. Running Lotus Haven has helped me meet so many wonderful people and one of those is because of photographers! I love so many different photographers in my life. About a week ago a new one reached out to me asking if she could do some bo***ir photos with Dragonfly and she would make a donation to the rescue for using him. We are really struggling with the funds for shots since I have had some personal stuff going on and someone stole $ from the rescue and pics with pets didn't happen so I eagerly agreed to get help in any way possible. Last night she came and did a demo. Dragonfly is a true angel for sure!! AND these came out great! She is having a professional hair and makeup artist on scene these are going to be EPIC! If you book please pm me and let me know! This is happening just 2 weeks away! Most of you have seen we have a new baby on the farm! Future therapy donkey- 🌈 Rainbow is sassy and sweet.

Look who went to their new home today!!! Even the snow didn’t stop them because they are only 2 houses down from us!! So excited I’ll still get to visit and see their progress. Meet Murry a 14yr old gelding and Tootsie a 12yr old mare.
They have been together for a good number of years and we would love if they could stay together. Murry is terrified and is trying to challenge all the big horses here but seems to get along fine with the donkeys, other minis and even the sheep. There were sheep and donkeys in his old home as well but no bigger horses. His confirmation is so cute. He really is cute as a button and has not attempted to kick, bite or be mean to me or my 12y old son at all. I think he would make a great kids pony. I was told that he has done pony rides and even some in hand show/jumping competitions and I believe it!
His sister tootsie is the sweetest little mini there is. She loves to be loved. She has followed me around the farm from the second she got here. Just wanting to stand by me or get some love. She will make someone a fantastic best friend for sure.
They both load right up into the trailer. I was told they were impossible to catch at their old home but so far both let me walk right up and catch them and they both lead perfect on lead line.

They will both be available for adoption to an approved home but we are also looking for foster homes if that is something that you might be interested in doing for us now or in the future. We only take minis and donkeys no larger horses so must be set up for that. Please reach out if you are interested in possibly adopting Murry and Tootsie.

Tonight Lotus Haven took Jubal and Seneca to Lights on the Lake for meet and greet they were a huge hit!! I love seeing how happy they make people because it’s like sharing my happiness!! We are still in 2nd place but we’re catching up!!! If you haven’t liked our tree yet please do so! Voting ends tomorrow night!! Today I am thankful for this great animal ministry that God has entrusted me with and thankful for everyone who has partnered with us in the past and the vision God has given me for the future of the organization!

Simultaneously, we raise awareness about ethical treatment, promote mental health, and facilitate animal-assisted therapy to enhance the well-being of both humans and animals. This rescue and sanctuary initiative originated with the rescue of a baby donkey and her mother, and it has organically expanded since then. Encouraged by numerous individuals, I established this rescue with the aim of providing others an opportunity to contribute and be involved. Many of the animals brought to our facility, stemming from diverse circumstances, become permanent residents, although we occasionally engage in rescue and adoption efforts.

Beyond our core mission of animal rescue and sanctuary, we have embraced an educational component, inviting individuals to visit and learn about our animals and the rescue process. Moreover, we have facilitated therapeutic visits, extending our impact beyond our immediate community. Looking ahead to 2024, we aspire to broaden our therapeutic visits to public spaces, such as nursing homes, VA facilities, schools, and more, to share the joy these interactions bring.

Since our inception two years ago, we have successfully assisted over 40 animals in finding new beginnings. As of January 2022, we have been granted nonprofit status, underscoring our commitment to the well-being of animals and our dedication to fostering meaningful connections between humans and rescued creatures.

This year we were giving an AMAZING opportunity to participate in Lights On The Lake’s charity Christmas tree program!

I can’t wait to release our tree pics but in the meantime here’s some sneak pics!!! Stay tuned as we’ll need everyone to vote so we can WIN!! $ raised will be used to get our NEW DONATED TRUCK up and running! YES!! You heard that right!! We just had a truck donated that needs a bit of work but is the first step in us being able to take the crew to therapy sessions in public!!!!

Looking for a couple volunteers for this Friday/Saturday. I’d love to have at least 1 person who knows how to bathe a horse but also happy to teach. Come love on the animals and help with a couple spring clean up projects. Kids welcome to come help (with parental supervision), cleaning up, bathing animals for pictures with pets event, cleaning stalls heck I’ll even take help finishing with building the coop. Come for one hour or all day I’ll be here working Friday and Saturday message me and we’ll work out the details I could really really use some help.

2 amazing dates with 2 amazing photographers. We will book 3 families per hour. You can choose which animals are in your shoot (based on their level of cooperation that day lol) we have 3 sizes of donkeys, horses, mini ponies, sheep.

💴 We are asking for a minimum of $100 donation for your photo session. In return you get to meet and greet animals, and get 5 professionally edited photos of your session, as well as taking as many with your celll as you’d like. Photos can be of you kid(s) or entire family!

Because we need every spot filled to cover all spring vaccines for the animals I’m going to ask for 50% upfront to hold your spot in hopes of avoiding no-shows. This will be non-refundable .

Pics below are ideas of poses but most are not my pics just giving idea what to expect.

I was thinking of doing a photo shoot day as a fundraiser. These are not my animals but we could do something very similar to raise $$ for the sanctuaries spring shots. Who would be interested in doing something like this? These are not my pics and not my animals but I’m thinking something similar plus I’ll need a photographer to donate time anyone??

I’ll never forget this night, the one that started it all. When Millie and her momma showed up after midnight. Momma couldn’t stand she was so weak from the trip. Millie so afraid she wouldn’t let me touch her as she tried hard to stay by mom’s side. Both scared and clearly starving. I had never owned a farm animal or equine before, had no clue how much I’d fall head over heals in love with this baby. Momma so weak I sat by her side promising to fight with her if she could fight or if she couldn’t promising her baby would forever stay with me and be safe to never end up back in a place like that again. She was too weak and to fight but I was determined to keep her baby alive. Odds were she’d die with out her mom but God said no and surrounded me with others more experienced then me and that plus prayer and love and sweet Millie a.k.a snookie poo is thriving and craves love from everyone who visits! Help us save others in similar situations!

Meet Maple and Popsicle sweet little minis that need a new home. Maple is about 8 and popsicle is about 14. They are bonded and need to go together and like most minis will need a dry lot. Good with kids and sweet disposition. Please reach out if your interested!
