Skunk Season is upon us…

While we love to let our furry friends explore the outdoors, please be aware of the wildlife that dwells in nature. Skunks are nocturnal and love to hunt at dawn and dusk.

Before calling your groomer, try this DIY Mixture pictured below!

(PLEASE NOTE:)

*********** Per www.akc.org **********
• Use the DIY mixture described above immediately after mixing. Do not store it. It can explode if kept in a closed container.
• Be careful not to get the any products, solutions or shampoos in your dog’s eyes.
• Don’t leave the mixture on your dog’s coat for too long. Peroxide may bleach your dog’s fur.
• Don’t use a hydrogen peroxide solution stronger than 3%, as it can irritate your dog’s skin.

This remedy will not get rid of the smell, but will assist in neutralizing the scent and chemical compound associated with the skunk’s spray.

After a few washes in the mixture, we recommend applying a skunk shampoo, such as:
