Our wonderful groomer, Laura, is currently working toward her grooming certification, and we’re excited to help her gain more hands-on experience while welcoming new pups into the IK9 family!

While Laura completes her certification, she’s opening her schedule to new pups who haven’t been groomed by her before. Whether you’re a brand-new client or already part of the IK9 pack, we’re offering 25% off your first groom with Laura. It’s the perfect chance to get your pup looking fresh for fall!

A quick note: Since Laura is still gaining experience, we ask that pups coming in are well-mannered for grooming. If we find a pup isn’t the right fit at this time, we’ll kindly refer you to another groomer who can better meet their needs.

We have two doodle friends, Roxie and Daisy, who are looking for new homes! Information about each dog is included below along with multiple photos. To start the adoption process or if you have any questions, please contact Independent K-9.

Meet and greets may be required for all potential adopters. Placement in homes with children, other dogs, or pets will be considered but some situations may not be ideal. Located in the Martinsburg, WV area. Both dogs may take a little time to get comfortable in new environments and need time to warm up when meeting new people. Both dogs completed a board & train program with us in 2021, they are well behaved, crate trained, and current on vaccines and spayed. Roxie and Daisy are from the same household but do not need to be adopted together. Both dogs require professional grooming and haircuts on a regular 6-8 week schedule.

Roxie - approx. 40-45lbs D.o.b - 09/2022
Roxie is spunky, active girl. She a medium/smaller sized doodle mix. She loves going for walks and playing outside. She enjoys playing with other dogs but can be a bit selective at times and doesn't want to participate in rough play with unfamiliar dogs. Roxie does have an autoimmune disease which affects the health & strength of her toenails. This does require lifelong medication and daily Vitamin E capsules. Otherwise, she is a healthy, happy pup!

Daisy - 70+lbs D.o.b - 12/2020
Daisy is a larger doodle mix and a big softie. She loves nothing more than a snuggle and a belly rub. She likes to shake hands, and you can hold her paw for as long as you want. Daisy can be shy and take some time to warm up, but she really gains confidence being around other dogs. She loves her sister Roxie but could easily make new friends.

These are the final group classes for 2025! Please see the new dates below!

Trick Class -
Saturday October 4th at 10:00am

Basic Obedience Class -
Monday October 6th at 6:00pm

If you are interested in signing up or have questions, please contact us. We require a minimum of 4 registered & paid participants in order to run the class. If we do not have enough people registered, the class will be delayed until the minimum is reached. We have a maximum of 8 per class. All dogs must be current on age-appropriate vaccines, and we will need copies of your dog's vaccine records. We require Distemper/Parvo, Rabies, and Bordetella, and your dog must be on flea/tick, and heartworm prevention. Below is a list of start dates and a description for each class. In the event of inclement weather or extreme temperatures, all class cancellations will be posted to our main page with as much advance notice as possible and we will do our best to make sure students are notified of cancellations. The cancelled class will be added on to the end of your session.

Trick Class - Saturday October 4th at 10:00am
Cost: $180 + tax
Location: 219B Lawn Street Martinsburg
Want to make your dog the life of the party? Impress your friends? Test your skills as a team? Trick class is the place for you & your dog! We'll work on the classics like spin and roll over, plus more! Is there something you have ALWAYS wanted to teach your dog? Bring your ideas to class and we can get it done!

Basic Obedience Group Class - Monday October 6th at 6:00pm
Cost: $180.00 + tax
Location: 219B Lawn Street Martinsburg
This is a 6-week class that will cover the basics, this includes:
- Name recognition
- Sit until released
- Down until released
- Come when called
- Walking on a loose leash
- Coming into heel position
- Foundation to heeling
- Plus, Basic Manners | no jumping & sit while shaking hands
This class is recommended for dogs over 6 months. It is the next step for puppies who have completed puppy class, a great starting point for dogs that are just getting started with training, or for dogs that need a little refresher training. If you have a dog that is a little extra unruly, private lessons would be a great addition to this class.
