*** Group Class Announcements *** Updated schedule with new classes! ***

If you are interested in signing up or have questions, please contact us. We require a minimum of 3 registered & paid participants in order to run the class. If we do not have enough people registered, the class will be delayed until the minimum is reached. All dogs must be current on age-appropriate vaccines, and we will need copies of your dog's vaccine records. We require Distemper/Parvo, Rabies, and Bordetella, and your dog must be on flea/tick, and heartworm prevention. Below is a list of start dates and a description for each class. A reminder as we head into the winter months, in the event of inclement weather all class cancellations will be posted to our main page with as much advance notice as possible and we will do our best to make sure students are notified of cancellations. The cancelled class will be added on to the end of your session.

AKC Puppy S.T.AR. Class start date-
Monday June 24th at 6:00pm Registration is Open

Basic Obedience Class start dates-
Thursday July 11th 6:00pm

Intermediate Obedience Group Class start date- (CLASS IS FULL)
Thursday June 20th at 7:00pm

AKC Puppy S.T.A.R. Class-
Location: Our Martinsburg Facility- 219B Lawn Street
Cost: $180 + tax
Would you like your puppy to sit for attention instead of jumping on you? We can help you shape your puppy’s negative behavior into something positive! Our puppy class is 6 weeks and is designed to expose your puppy to new people, dogs, environments, smells and noises in a safe and stress-free manner. AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy is an exciting puppy program designed to get dog owners and their puppies off to a good start. AKC S.T.A.R. stands for:
S ocialization
T raining
A ctivity
R esponsibility
Your puppy will learn to welcome new things with a happy and confident attitude instead of being fearful and stressed. This class will also cover crate training, house breaking, walking nicely on a leash, sit, down, and recall, as well as problem puppy behaviors. Your puppy is required to have their second set of vaccines (distemper/parvo) and be clear of parasites to start this class. Once they are old enough, we also require Rabies and Bordetella vaccines. This class is for dogs under 6 months of age. Weight restrictions may apply for large-breed puppies.

Basic Obedience Group Class-
Location: Our Martinsburg Facility- 219B Lawn Street
Cost: $180.00 + tax
This is a 6-week class that will cover the basics, this includes:
- Name recognition
- Sit until released
- Down until released
- Come when called
- Walking on a loose leash
- Coming into heel position
- Foundation to heeling
- Plus, Basic Manners | no jumping & sit while shaking hands
This class is recommended for dogs over 6 months. It is the next step for puppies who have completed puppy class, a great starting point for dogs that are just getting started with training, or for dogs that need a little refresher training. If you have a dog that is a little extra unruly, private lessons would be a great addition to this class.

Intermediate Obedience Class-
Location: Our Martinsburg Facility- 219B Lawn Street
Cost: $180.00 + tax
Intermediate Obedience Class is the next step after Basic Obedience Class. We will build on everything that you have learned in previous classes by adding more distance, duration, and lots of distraction. This class will also include:
- Send to place & Recall from place
- Starting Sit & Down from a distance
- Leaving your dog in a sit or down while crossing the room
- Elevate your heeling and work towards a dropped leash

Luna had an exciting weekend at a family cookout and a road trip to La Plata MD! She has been doing so well for her first week of her training program! She really liked the hydrangeas and wanted to lay under them.

Luna and Rafi had a great time at the Hagerstown Flying Boxcars baseball game!
It was Double Dog Wednesday, meaning dogs got in for free! They both got to meet the Boxcars Mascot and everyone had a good time. By the end of the night Luna was so tired she fell asleep in the stands!

Lotte and Frieda are staying with us at The Farm while mom and dad are on vacation! They're settling in well, although Frieda is a little more skeptical of her new situation than her sister Lotte. Frieda really lite up when she met Dani Jo. And Lotte helped her by encouraging her to play.

Introducing Zoom! Can't get enough of his cuteness 😍 Zoom has been here a week and is participating in our behavior modification program. Zoom struggles with fear and a lack of confidence in certain situations. Surface changes, steps, and doorways can be a struggle. He likes to chase and nip, which is very typical to his breed but not much fun for the people and kids around him. We will be working on building his confidence, shaping new behaviors, obedience, manner and good potty behavior! I can't wait to see his progress!!

Hazel is in the house! She joined us over the weekend to start her first phase of service dog training as well! Hazel will be training to hopefully become a seizure response service dog for her little girl, Maddie.

Introducing Fern! Fern joined us on Saturday and is in her 1st phase of service dog training. She will be staying with us for 4-5 weeks to begin her journey to become a diabetic alert service dog for Brooke. She's a wonderful, energetic, outgoing puppy who loves to explore. We're so excited to be a part of Brooke and Fern's journey!
