Big news! 🎉 We are thrilled to share that the Union County Humane Society has achieved no-kill status again in 2024!
This means we’re saving 90% or more of the pets who enter our shelter—and it’s all thanks to the incredible dedication of our staff, volunteers, fosters, supporters, and rescue partners. We’re also deeply grateful to for recognizing our efforts and honoring this achievement.
What makes this even more meaningful is that we’ve done it without giving up on the animals who need us most. We’ve remained steadfastly committed to working with challenging cases, many of whom were simply scared, confused, or misunderstood. At UCHS, we recognize that the majority of behavioral issues we see are rooted in fear—not aggression—and we work hard every day to earn these animals' trust and help them heal.
Our ultimate goal is to have zero behavioral euthanasias because we believe every pet deserves a chance to feel safe, to be loved, and to find their family.
We’re proud to be part of the no-kill movement, and with your continued support, we’ll keep pushing forward to save even more lives. 🐾💛
