It’s no secret, some of the dogs I work with are difficult at times. Rogue has been no exception. She’s adorable and so sweet, but she can turn into a little gremlin very quickly. We tried some new things yesterday, and they worked for the better. After a lot of thought, I wondered if because of her grooming trauma in her past, if simply being on the table was a traumatic thing for her to deal with.

Enter The Doggie Lift. I set it up, her momma got her into the harness, we hooked it up and the change was incredible!! Rogue wasn’t tense, she wasn’t on guard or frightened at all. She was calm and relaxed. I was actually able to trim her nails, her paw pads and her face!! We took her down and went to do bubble time (a bath). She was perfect on the floor for the blow dry. We tried putting her on the table for her body trim, and behold, the gremlin came out. We put her back into the doggie lift and once again, she was an angel.

Small changes make a huge difference with some dogs. I’m so glad we were able to make the changes, I’m happy for Rogue, and I’m very excited that her Momma isn’t stressing out as well. Next time I see Rogue, I will have a different table setup for her, we are hoping it will reduce, if not eliminate, her stress of being on the table.

What an amazing testimonial from one of our lovely customers!

“I purchased the doggie lift for my three Ridgebacks, but primarily for my male who was a literal demon on the grooming table. He'd jump right up on the table for his peanut butter, but then fight me like a boxer going 10 rounds. It would take me 30-45 minutes to just get a clip on each nail. I got him used to the harness by putting it on him and letting him walk around a bit with it, and then he watched as his sisters had their nails done. I waited a day, and then tried it on him. He hopped on the grooming table as usual, and I put the harness on him while he was licking his peanut butter spoon. Strapped him into the ratchet straps I have mounted to my ceiling joists and slowly lowered the grooming table out from under him. He was an angel! I mean, he grumbled a little, but he always has an opinion about everything so that was to be expected. I not only trimmed his nails but dremeled them for the first time in two years! I am not often impressed by things, but this product is a literal game changer. I tried a couple cheaper versions from Amazon and they were made cheaply and the leg holes were too small for my big guys. It took some searching but I finally found your product and would recommend it to anyone. Thank you!!!!”

How to keep your dog calm during fireworks: play white noise, like a TV or radio, to help mask the sound of fireworks. Comfort your dog, if they are afraid. Petting them with long from strokes is typically smoothing. Take them for a walk before the sun goes down. Make sure you keep your dog away from fireworks and make sure your pet has proper ID.
