This lil guy camped outside the Winthrop location for a nap. He was gently moved to a quieter location to finish up his nap.

Some bat facts.

Bats are mammals with forelimbs that have adapted into wings.

They are the only mammals that can fly continuously and are more agile than most birds.

Bats have excellent eyesight and hearing, but they primarily use echolocation to navigate and find food.

They emit soundwaves that bounce off objects and return to the bat at different rates. These rates indicate the object’s distance, shape, location, and movement.

Bats can eat thousands of insects each night, and some species can eat over 1,000 insects in an hour.

If you see a bat, it’s best to just leave it be. This particular bat was in danger of little hands poking it, or exuberant dogs, snacking on it. He was moved to a safer location, and will take flight this evening.

Call to action!! If you have ever thought about being a dog foster, now is the time. Bulldog Haven NW is in desperate need of foster families.

Bulldog Haven NW is in desperately in need of foster volunteers! We have an unprecedented number of surrenders and far more dogs than we have fosters.
Bulldog Haven NW foster volunteers care for Bulldogs not ready for adoption. The more foster families we have, the more homeless dogs we can save.

We provide all the essential supplies for foster animals, including food, medications, housing/kennels, and toys. We provide training and care instructions for each foster dog so that you will know exactly what each animal requires.

We need people over 18 who have their own transportation and can open their hearts and homes to homeless Bulldogs/Frenchies who need a caring place to stay while they get the medical care they need and wait for their new homes. There are different fostering levels, from a short stay for a healthy dog to longer-term medical or mental rehab for all bulldogs.

One critical type of foster home we are in dire need of is one with no other dogs. We are seeing an influx of "only" dogs being surrendered, and that means they need to be in a home that either has no other dogs (sometimes cats or kids, too) or can completely separate the foster from the family pets.

Our heart aches tonight for a good friend and colleague, as she says a final farewell to Bambi “Bam”. Bam is family to, and loved dearly by, one of our vendor owners, her loss will be felt forever. Bam has been to Julz numerous times over the last nine years, when mom comes to visit, it’s just expected that Bam will too. Bam would have been 14 in February, which is quite old for a French Bulldog. Bam lived an amazing, love filled, healthy life. We love you Bam, and we’ve got moms back now. Fly free sweet girl. Until we meet again❤️🌈🤦🏼‍♀️
