Maryville/Alcoa Animal Rescue Center Maryville/Alcoa Animal Rescue is a 501c3 No-Kill Rescue partnered with the Maryville City Shelter.

MAARC operates from 426 Home Avenue and houses both dogs and cats. Hours for dogs are Mon-Fri 2:30pm-5:30pm and Saturday 10am-1pm. Please call 865-273-3751

Cats are Saturday 10am-1pm or by appointment. Please call or text 865-599-7304 and feel free to leave a voicemail. Our goal is to sustain a 97% and higher save rate for the animals who enter the Maryville City Shelter with robust adoption and community programs.

Our volunteers are tired. Our animals are waiting. And MAARC is stretched thin.

If you have any time — an hour, a morning, afternoon, or evening — we desperately need more hands, more hearts, and more people willing to step in. The cats still need cuddles. The dogs still need walks. The shelter still needs to run… but our tiny team can't keep up on its own.

You don’t need experience. You don’t need special skills. You just need compassion and the willingness to show up for the pets who have no one else.

This buff-colored senior is named after Peyton Manning, and while he may be past his prime playing days, he’s still a champion snuggler. Manning is calm, gentle, and just wants a quiet home where he can curl up and be loved. He’s not flashy—just steady, sweet, and full of heart.

Manning is FIV+ (which means his immune system isn't great, but he can happily and safely live with other cats) and has Stage 3 kidney disease. He’s managing it well with a prescription diet and would love a home that can keep him on track with his care.

Don’t let his 34 pounds fool you — Koda is a big dog at heart! This 2-year-old Pit Bull Terrier mix is a playful, energetic little guy who loves making friends (even with dogs twice his size!). Koda came to us with his “brother” Roscoe and has been winning hearts ever since with his goofy zoomies and brave attitude. The MAARC Mission

Maryville / Alcoa Animal Rescue Center, (MAARC) is an all volunteer animal rescue group. Our mission is to rescue animals in danger of being euthanized in our local shelter, with a purpose of creating a safe, no kill community and eventually advancing animal welfare for animals in surrounding county shelters or beyond.

MAARC is extremely fortunate to partner with the Maryville City Shelter. The shelter staff and animal control officers work cohesively with our group to get animals adopted directly from the shelter.

Our page and any other social media avenue, is a critical piece of finding our animals permanent homes or foster homes. Look for us in the near future on petfinder.com and other adoption websites.
