Today Was a great day for Colby Raichl to work with her pony clover 🍀 through our barn hall obstacle course. She did very well and was very proud of her ponies progress. As Colby’s instructor I take great pride in the progress colby and clover make with each session. I see great things in their future together.

Welcome little Cleo to the program. She's the cutest little bay roan weanling. Her new owner Melissa has plans to show her in the spring as a yearling.

In my opinion, 4-H is one of the best organizations to get your child involved in. 4-H is open to both boys and girls. The only real requirement is that they need to be in grades 4th - 12th. I encourage you to check it out for yourself https://4h.tennessee.edu/what-interests-you/

As a trainer, instructor, equestrian and horse enthusiast, I want to highlight the Knox County 4-H Horse & Pony Club. Regardless if they ride or not, own a horse or not. As long as there's a genuine interest in horses, this club is for them. I guarantee they will learn a lot and make lifelong friends along the way.

Have to give a great big Thank You these amazing 4-Hers and their leader Janicia West for volunteering at the phtc/APHA/ApHC show this weekend. They always had a smile on their faces and were willing to do whatever you asked of them without flack. Very good group of young men and ladies.

Tomorrow is a big day for the Appaloosa Horse Club of Tennessee. It's also the last show for the year in Tennessee to participate in. If you like to see all the pretty spotted or painted horses, come out to Harriman. It's an open show as well if you want to show.

FUN FACT FRIDAY!!!!

My favorite candy bar is a Mr.Goodbar. Why you may ask is my favorite candy bar 🍫 since its such an unusual choice? When I was 9 years old and in third grade, I had a teacher named Miss Hines. On snack days when I had not brought snack money, Miss Hines would share half of her Mr.Goodbar with me and I quickly grew to love those candy bars. Little did I know at the time, but an all time leading AQHA western pleasure stallion that would become one of my favorite horses also had this candy bar in the title of his name. That horse is the great Zippos Mr Goodbar. To this day my eyes light up with childhood wonder when I have a Mr.Goodbar candy bar or get to ride a horse going back to Zippos Mr Goodbar. Thank you Miss Hines wherever you may be. Who thought sharing a simple candy bar would make such a lasting impression?

This small fry took 1st place in his escorted class. He took those reins and steered this horse (Lance) like a boss. I'm so proud of you Marcus (grandson to one of my other students). You may ask, "when is a good age to start?" It's never too early or late to grow a love for horses.

We had a pretty successful show last weekend Smoky Mountain Horse Show Series. It was the first big show for one of my students and I couldn't have been more proud of her. Can't wait to do it again next month.
