Did you know Mollies Mission on average provides FREE pet food for 200 dogs and 75 cats! Each month our dedicated volunteers gather to assist Veterans and those on disability by providing free dog and cat food. Together we can support those in need keep their pets home and well fed.

Each month Mollies Mission holds a food distribution day. During this day Veterans and those with disabilities can apply for free pet food. By doing this we are keeping animals home and out of shelters.

Almost every client I work with asks "How long will it '’take'" for my dog to be trained? It is relative to whatever behavior the client is most concerned about, but occasionally, the
training overall. My generic answer is "Until the dog assumes the behavior on its own", paired with "In all honesty, training' never ends!"

Not falling off a bike was a powerful motivator for us as children. Not only were we not 'forced' to ride, we chose to, if for no other reason than to start practicing autonomy from our parents because freedom is a powerful motivator as well.

Dogs learn precisely the same way. We introduce a new behavior, practice it MANY times, and reinforce it equally by supplying the dog with many opportunities to practice around different things, which allows the dog to learn from his choices.

“TRAINING NEVER ENDS” For the Human or the Dog.

THE MOST LIKELY REASON FOR SCOOTING: ITCHY & FULL A**L GLANDS

All dogs, male and female, have a**l sacs (inside their a**s) that are filled with foul-smelling fluid. The purpose of this fluid is essentially a “calling card” with their information.

PS- That’s part of why dogs like to sniff each other’s butts and f***s.

The fluid passes out of the sacs, through a duct, and then out of the a**s, typically at the end of a bowel movement.

But sometimes the fluid doesn’t make it out as it should.

When that happens, you get a build-up in the sacs (often stemming from the ducts being clogged or irritated) that causes pain, inflammation, and general discomfort for your dog. This can also turn into A**l Sac Disease, especially if left untreated.

This leads us to why a**l glands are often the root cause of a scooting dog.

Contact your Veterinarian or speak with your Professional Groomer about your pups scooting.
