💙 Shoutout to some young heroes and their amazing community!

Today, we had the sweetest visitors, Oliver (9) and Felix (6), who stopped by the shelter to drop off a mountain of donations collected during Vacation Bible School! 🐾

Three Mason churches, Eden UB, First Methodist, and First Presbyterian, joined forces for VBS this year, and the kids brought in items every day to help shelter pets in need. Thanks to their kindness, we now have more food, treats, toys, and cleaning supplies to keep tails wagging and noses booping.

Thank you to all the kids, parents, and church members who made this happen. Your generosity means the world to our animals! 💛🐶🐱

✨ Meet Juliet – the ultimate lap cat with a heart full of gratitude and a purr that could melt stress away. 💕

This queen has been through a lot, a scary infection called pyometra that could’ve taken her life, but thanks to the care she received at Happy Feet Pet Rescue, she’s now living her best, snuggly life.

She’s soft, serene, and seriously into cuddle time. If your vibe is quiet mornings and cozy evenings, Juliet might just be your soulmate in feline form. 😽

Ready to meet your new best friend? Check out Juliet’s profile at happyfeetpetrescue.com.

Juliet – Queen of Chill, Survivor of Pyometra 👑💗

Juliet is the definition of calm and cuddly, but this sweet girl quietly overcame something serious — Pyometra, a dangerous uterine infection that can be fatal if left untreated.

💡 What is Pyometra?
It’s a common infection in unspayed female cats and dogs, caused by hormone changes after heat cycles. It often develops silently and can lead to life-threatening complications.

The good news? Spaying is the best prevention. At Happy Feet, every animal receives the vet care they need — including spay surgeries that save lives.

Now fully recovered, Juliet is back to doing what she does best: soaking up love, curling up in laps, and spreading peaceful vibes wherever she goes. She’s ready to be your soft, snuggly sidekick. 💕

Update: Rum Tum Tugger went to a foster-to-adopt home!

💛 Rum Tum Tugger is ready for his next chapter. 💛

Yes, we know, Rum Tum Tugger is technically a cat’s name, but this sweet pup is flipping the script. When he first arrived at the shelter, he was so underweight he could barely stand. Since then, he’s been working hard to get healthy and along the way, he’s completely stolen our hearts. 💕

He’s still a little shy at first, but once he knows you, he’s the sweetest snugglebug you’ll ever meet. He’s getting braver every day, learning what toys are, how good ear scratches feel, and slowly figuring out how to just… be a dog. 🧸🐶

He’s also a bit of a trash panda (we say that lovingly)—so you’ll want to keep an eye on your snack stash. 😅

Rum Tum Tugger is looking for a special family to help him continue healing. He needs to stick to a strict refeeding plan (specific meals three times a day) and would thrive in a quiet home with patient people who can resist his very convincing “just one treat?” face.

🐓🐐 We've got an egg-citing update! 🐐🐓

Thanks to the generous support of the Ingham County Animal Shelter Fund, we now have a brand new chicken coop and livestock shelter! These additions will help us safely and appropriately house our feathered and hoofed friends like stray chickens, goats, and other barnyard buddies. 🏡❤️

We’re also sending a mooo-velous thank you to Turkey Creek Outdoors for building these shelters with care, quality, and some serious barnyard flair. 🛠️🐔

With this upgrade, we’re feeling udderly grateful. We might not be Old MacDonald, but thanks to this upgrade, we’re ready for an occasional E-I-E-I-oh no, it’s a goat!

🎉 It’s time for the big reveal! 🧬🐾

This week’s star, Kai (formerly Wario), had us all guessing… but the mystery is solved!

Adopted from our shelter back in April, Kai is now living his best life in a loving home and according to his DNA test, he is 100% Siberian Husky! ❄️🐺 No mix, no mystery, just pure Husky through and through.

Huge thanks to his family for sharing his results and for giving this good boy the forever home he deserves. 💛

📸 Have a pup with a surprising, or maybe not-so-surprising DNA test?
We’d love to feature them! Email their photo and breed breakdown to [email protected] and they might be our next mystery mutt!

Bonus: They don’t have to be adopted from ICACS to be featured!

His new family just got his DNA results back and shared them with us! Can you guess what breed(s) are hiding in that handsome face?

✨ Drop your guesses in the comments, and we’ll reveal his results tomorrow!

Please note: Kai is not available for adoption. He’s already found his happily ever after. 💛
