As most of you know we have been taken off the map temporarily due to loosing one of our dear babies. Freyja has passed in an accident. Unfortunate circumstances led her to perrish, so as of this time we will not be taking tracks as we mourn the loss of our family member. Thank you for your time and continuing support!

Bo and I made our way out to Pigsah iowa to knock another track out of the park! Our second best time yet. 15min 57 seconds. Hunter (Mike) did absolutely everything right. Congratulations Mike on beautiful harvest! And thank you for trusting Midwest Whitetail Recovery!

Not all Recoveries are happy endings, we took a track lastnight (orange marker) and blood was extreamely scarce and no where to be found we wound up doing circle after circle, come to find out why we were circling was because we kept bumping the deer(why we were circling) and not knowing, finally around the 3rdish time of bumping we heard him, and backed off knowing he was still alive. This was 26 hours post shot. We decided it would be best to back out and follow up the next day. (red marker) we continued to track post 42 hours. As we went into the thicket where bo last had scent we got an immediate hit from bo. We went about 15 yards past where we pulled off at the previous night and bumped him again still alive. Hunter verified his deer and recovered arrow after trailing around 100 yards with about only 5 inches of pe*******on. I believe this buck will live to see another day. The arrow also indicated a hard sholder strike with alot of muscle tissue. Sholders are a nightmare for a bow hunter, this hunter did everything right and sometimes the deer just don't die.

Were officially on the books in iowa! Hunter took the shot last night around 5pm, seen him walk into thicket and waited 1.5 hours to retrieve his passed through arrow. Saw no blood and immediately backed out. Gave me a call thismorning, and we set out to track. Even with the horrible tracking conditions Bo made light work of the track. It really helps with success rates when the hunter backs out immediately and calls a dog. Congratulations on a beautiful harvest!

Depending on what the VA(hospital) says we may wind up being nonworking this season. My apologies to all of our clients. I may be in the works for a Knee surgery within the up coming month.

Unfortunately Bo has a sprained/ strained ankle, we will be taking atleast a week off from tracking for it to heal. His paw is twice the size of his other paws. If the swelling fails to subside we will be making an emergency vet appointment. We apologize for the inconvenience.
