:: MINI SESSIONS 2024!! :: Recap.
What an amazing year and I love how mini sessions have become my point of reference to tie loose ends and finalize everything for the end of another great year!
It's been B U S Y. Another very successful year for me. I'm a tad overloaded lol, but very thankful and working hard on your photos and getting these to everyone ASAP! I appreciate your patience, all of you have been so supportive and kind!
I'm posting here a few pics from the mini sessions (I only did two this year). Last year I did 5... It was a bit much. This year was fun and we definitely made some memories together!
I've been shooting mini sessions at Pine Tree Barn minis in Wooster for 13 years...and 2024, you take the cake for the COLDEST YET!! EVER! lol. I mean, FREEZING. It was slightly challenging with little ones, but some of the photos turned out so GOOD because of it. The "teeth chattering smiles" gave it a "cheery-holiday appropriate vibe" HA HA!
(Some kiddos had meltdowns too, but they generated some high quality Christmas card material LOL!). Classics.
(check them out below!)
My absolute favorite is the first one. Nick and Tiff were certainly stressed because their little guy was not having it; However, I thought it was great. LOL! Sometimes we have to appreciate the organic and unrestrained attributes of toddlers and the laughs they give us. This MUST go on your Christmas cards! ha ha!
Kingwood is always beautiful ...
The sessions are longer and it allows a little more time to catch up with my clients! I love that.
As I look at these images tonight, I can't help but to tear up a bit.
I have met so many new families, made new friends and have gotten close to so many of you. Some of these sweet kiddos in these session have been cherished through my lens as newborns! I have been able to interact, watch them grow, and listen to great stories too. I have embraced so many families at so many levels. I have cried with you, hugged many with long hugs with you, I have rejoiced with you, I have been there to capture weddings and monumental moments, I have tearfully edited and handed over photos for obituaries, I have laughed so hard with many of you to the point that we both can't talk ... I have had mini sessions where one year someone is there smiling and laughing, the very next year-- they have passed on. I have seen a lot and felt a lot through my lens. Nonetheless, I have been blessed to stand by as a loving onlooker, your historian. It means more to me than just a career, it's my life and passion all tangled up with yours and the ones you love. That, my friends is a beautiful thing. A true gift to me.
Are these pictures perfect? No. But I think they perfectly capture these amazing people. Even if I don't know you, I feel like I know you! LOL!
One day--when I have retired or even passed on; I hope people won't remember my "legacy" by the locations, the perfection of the photos, the props, the aesthetics etc. I hope they look back and remember the funny photos and endearing moments equally. I hope they remember that I focused on the composition of their story, not mine. Stories are not perfect, in fact they are quite messy and heartbreaking, but I pray the legacy of your family, story, love and authentic heart is forever preserved by my personal and loving artistic touch for generations to come.
Thanks for inviting me in. I have enjoyed sharing life with you.
Cheers! and many more amazing memories to come!
Thank you!
