We are going to be offering this cute guy for lease! Silver is an 18 year old AQHA gelding who has extensive show experience. He is currently used in a lesson program and is safe for beginners and fancy enough for an experienced rider. He does have moderate arthritis in his hocks which he is treated for regularly. The arthritis doesn’t bother him as long as he gets a chance to warm up and stretch out before going to work. He has been shown English, western pleasure and most recently in the ranch horse events. He can be tough and because of that I would say he’s best suited for an adult or strong youth. No buck, kick, bite or rear. He’s as steady as they come. He has been trail ridden, does all the groundwork, takes a bit like a gentleman and also rides bit less. We are looking for an ON SITE lease only. We have tack that fits him which is what we ask to be used on him. If you’re interested please PM us for more information.

PLEASE READ!

Our new website has finally launched! The link is flyingkhorsesllc.com so feel free to get on and check out what is new!

The best update is that we will now be able to schedule our lessons through the square app! If you go on our website and select either "services" or "book now" you will be given options regarding all of the lesson services we offer. You can select the lesson type, time, and day you would like to schedule and will receive a text message and email reminder of your appointment as well as cancellation notices and the option to cancel the appointment if necessary. We do not yet have all of our instructors schedules available but we are working on that. This is a rough launch and we are expecting a few bumps in the road so please be patient with us as we work through any bugs. For anyone who rides with Emily, her schedule will be changing as she is working toward getting her career going. For now, Emily will NOT be accepting any new students until her updated schedule has been set.

For our current lesson students...
- Please schedule for your regularly scheduled lesson day and time.
- If you need to change that day/time please schedule for the desired day/time. If the time and day is available then so are we!
- This is how we will be scheduling all lesson appointments from here on out to help keep our trainers and students organized so please utilize this new feature.
- If you have been riding for less than 1 year, you will schedule the "Beginner Lesson" and if you have been riding for over a year you will schedule the "Intermediate/Advanced Lesson".

For new students or anyone interested in lessons...
- If you have not yet met with one of our trainers and are interested in getting lessons scheduled, please select the "New Rider Lesson Meeting" when booking. You will see available appointment days/times to come out and take a tour of the facility as well as meet with your instructor!
- Depending on yours or your students riding level when beginning lessons at our facility you will either schedule "Beginner Lesson" or "Intermediate/Advanced Lesson" upon meeting with your instructor.

For Kent State University Riders...
- You will schedule either the "KSU Group Lesson" or "KSU Private Lesson"
- Remember you have two required group lessons per month.
- The shows are also listed as an option to book with the dates of each show. If you are planning on showing at any or all of the listed shows, please book yourself for those days.

Thank you to all of our wonderful lesson students and families! We wouldn't be growing to the point of needed a better way to schedule all of out students if it weren't for your commitment and dedication to our program. If anyone has any questions please feel free to comment or DM us and we will do our best to get back with you in a timely manner.

HORSES IN TRAINING…

You pay that hefty training bill for the month.

You look to have you horse in training as little as possible so it doesn’t break the bank.

You’re disappointed when after 30 days or 60 days or 90 days, there’s still more work to be done or the goal hasn’t been met. Worse yet, it looks good, you take the horse home and it unravels piece by piece. All that money “wasted”.

When you pay a trainer, that money isn’t paying for a result, it’s paying for someone’s skilled effort.

At least for me, when someone gets unhappy that their horse “isn’t fixed yet”, or comes “untrained” after it’s been home a while, makes the task of training horses for other people, discouraging. Discouraging because the efforts are being made, usually my best efforts that are filled with compassion, determination and lots of ruminating on how to fix complex issues a horse may have. Their disappointment becomes my failure basically. I know that’s not an actual truth but it’s never rewarding when someone is disappointed due to their own expectations.

Training a horse is NOT like being a mechanic on a car. Its not a tune up, it’s not the simple replacement of a part. It’s an animal with thoughts, feelings, emotions, habits, talents, etc. You don’t just program them, tune them up or replace a faulty part and send it back good as new.

You arent paying for results to happen within your timeline, you are paying for the time it takes to reach a desired result. The more complicated the project, the bigger the investment. The more baggage a horse has, the more effort it takes to unravel the mess. The bigger the goal, the greater the investment.

People send their horses to certain trainers because they want the outcome that trainer proves they can achieve. The problem is, people want that result in the shortest time frame possible because time, again, is money. It takes the time it takes to create the vision and time costs money. People who have a diy mentality, value the effort so much more when they themselves invest their own energy into a horse rather than just paying for it. I really feel that those who do it themselves, come to appreciate the efforts it takes far more than those who sign the check.

Be nice to your trainers, they work hard for you and your horse!
