TCPBR is an animal rescue shelter in , Va. providing last chance rescue for mistreated, abandoned and injured pit bull terriers and other dogs. One hundred percent of TCPBR dogs are death row rescues. The mission of TCPBR is to rehabilitate the dogs for private home placement. At TCPBR, every dog is vetted, treated medically, wormed, watered

, fed and shown lots of love in a family environment. Then, each dog is assessed for behavioral disposition, and provided both obedience instruction and temperament testing , as needed, for homebound placement and therapy dog training. No dog is ever sold. Instead each dog is placed with potential owners who enter into a contract to provide stable housing, food and medical care for the dog. No owner is allowed to sell or to other wise transfer care of or custody of the dog without permission of TCPBR. If the placement fails for any reason, the dog shall be returned to TCPBR. Each potential owner is subject to a home check prior to placement that includes both a meet and greet between pet and potential owners and with their other pets, as well. Prior to placement, each dog is micro-chipped to document TCPBR ownership in the event of theft, runaway or illegal transfer. Providing this level of care is very expensive. Currently the owner is providing the majority of financial resources necessary to meet TCPBR objectives. Some funding is provided by community and private contributions. However, due to the extraordinary number of dogs in rescue situations, additional accommodations and services are disparately needed. Johnson, Esq. Attorney at law
