I am a Michigan 4-H/open show judge. My specialty is in showmanship, HUS, equitation/horsemanship, pleasure and trail. Whether it’s helping to improve yourself or your horse it’s my goal to see you and your horse succeed.

Another successful weekend in the books.

Abigail Bates and One Perfect Krymsun had some of their best rides. Every show I can see the growth they are making to become better partners. Ending the weekend Reserve High point in the 13&Under.

Sophia Gibbs and Face it I’m W***y Good took the blue in hunt seat discipline rail and equitation 14-18 in some big classes.

Lucy McGuire and Just a Rumor got in the placings in 14-18 trail and equitation. This was their first show outside of one county fair last year showing as a team. So impressed with the improvements they made just in this weekend.

Ava Nunn and Bet Ur Coat N Assets took the blue in Hunter under saddle 14-18 along with placing in trail and western pleasure.

Strait N Gold performed her first showmanship pattern with Ava Nunn and won. Also secured a win in 2&under Halter.

Leslie Provost and Bet Ur Coat N Assets took first in the Hunt Under Saddle Jackpot, Hunter under saddle senior horse 6&over.

Team Provost was at it again this weekend. Lots of ribbons, lots of laughs and lots of yawns lol. We had a really late night showing Saturday but Sunday they all came back ready for battle. It’s fun to watch these girls’ dedication and passion grow everytime. We got Rosemary and Tilly out this time and a few minis joined us.

The 2024 show season has officially started! Can’t wait to see where this year takes each team. I have a hard time remembering the placings and we left a day early because of Easter so the girls weren’t able to show in their championship classes which each of them had qualified for.

Abigail Bates and One Perfect Krymsun are a new team. This was their first show together and Abigail’s first time showing walk trot canter. I saw LOTS of progress over the two days we showed as they got to know each other better and Abigail started to trust her.

Sophia Gibbs and Face it I’m W***y Good, wow the growth in maturity as a rider and a person since last year makes me a proud coach.

Ava Nunn and Bet ur Coats N Assets were knocking off some dust and getting into the grove again. Great rides as they continue to work better and better with each other each year.

Strait n Gold aka June Bug had her first couple rides off the farm officially having to be a big horse at a horse show(though she still was able to get all her naps in while she waited for us to get done showing)

Strait N Gold ended overall Reserve Champion in yearling lunge line.

Bet Ur Coat N Assets got overall 7th in senior Hunter under saddle placing 2nd under one of the judges.

That’s a wrap for us for 2023 at the Buckskin Congress!! Great work ladies! Another amazing, fun, exhausting show. Proud of you all and already looking forward to next year.
Wednesday night I came back to the stalls and they had surprised me by decorating them. Wow! I of course loved the theme and was amazed with the work they put into it.

Truly blessed to have such a great group of girls! Wrapped up the Apple Blossom series this weekend with some really great rides from all 6 of them. Showing horses always have a lot of ups and downs but it’s so fun watching how supportive they are all of each other. In the future you won’t remember what you placed but you’ll remember the friendships you made and the love for horses that you all shared.

A month a go I challenged my students to a fun photo contest for April. The theme was a kiss or hug with your horse. The next couple months will each have a different theme. I had a friend choose the winner because I loved them all. The winner of a $5 gift card to bigby is Abigail and Reggie.

First show of the year in the books. These 4 were fun to show with can’t wait to get the rest of the team out.
Bristol and A Good American(Abe) got some placings in a really tough age division where she was going against girls much older then her. She showed her little heart out. Love her drive.
Sophia and Face it I’m W***y Good(Waylon) had their first show together. Really started figuring each other out on day two where they got their first first together and ended reserve high point for the weekend!
Great job girls! And boys! Lol

Wow what a way to finish out the show season. Apple blossom one weekend and then flying right into Buckskin Congress the next. It was a great year watching all these girls grow into better horsemen. Each one of them had their struggles in the year but it was amazing watching them put in the hard work to try and conquer them. Showing horses is full of so many great life lessons. It was even more fun watching each of them get rewarded for the work they put in. Looking forward to setting goals for the winter and then getting back out there next year!

So proud of these two young girls.
Abigail showed Reggie for the first time and has only been riding him a little over a month. She showed in her first pattern class and did great for being the first riding class on him. Can’t wait to get the winter to work with the two of them and make them more of a team.
Bristol and Abe went to their first show as a team ever and they rocked it! She looked exhausted by the end of the day but hopefully she is addicted😜

What a great weekend with these 4 girls at Apple Blossom. We had some highs and lows but I loved how they are all pushing themselves out of their comfort zones competing at a higher level and always working on bettering themselves. Too many places to post but super proud of all of you.

Had a great time at the ICFF show at MSU over the weekend.
The Knight Factor “Moose” officially became a big boy and rode in his first hunt seat pleasure class and placed 2nd out of 25 horses.
Bet UR Coat and Assets “Sage” had multiple 1sts over the weekend. I have been so impressed with the mind of this Full Medal Jacket mare. This is only her second time in the show pen and she doesn’t take much to prep which I always love.

Bet UR Coat N Assets (Bay horse) showed in her first ever hunter under saddle class today. She rode great even got a second in her Junior sweepstakes class. Couldn’t be happier.

I love when I get to watch a client ride their horse and find so much joy in how far they have come. It makes my heart so happy.

Emeri is making progress on her 2 point and posting. This little girl is horse obsessed and soaks in everything she can during her lessons.

Showing “Cake by the Ocean”(Gretta) at the Appaloosa show this past weekend in 2 year old western pleasure. She has been a fun little project since starting her last fall.

Congratulations to Jordyn Jepkema and The Ladman on their placings at Apple Blossom this weekend. There is an exciting future for these two and I can't wait to watch them as they become more and more of a team. Nice job!!!

Introductions during the 2015 Appaloosa World Show with one of my two years olds I started and trained "I'm no roan ranger" (Carter). Such an amazing trip.
