Astrid ASMR
Sometimes, a little cat ASMR is needed, and Astrid is here to provide it. Astrid is a long stay who has been with us since December 7th and recently moved into our Cat Outcome Coordinator's office. She's loving the office life, enjoying a very yummy treat in the cutest way imaginable 🥹.
Astrid is around 6 years old. She is dog-friendly and cat-selective. She would do best in an adult-only home!

Paying the Quartz Tax
This is Quartz. He is appreciative that we paid the "toy tax" he requires. 14.5/10 for you, Quartz. We were happy to pay that tax!
Quartz is our handsome three-year-old boy who would like to be adopted with his seven-year-old friend, Marble. They love each other and would love to be together ❤.
We're open from 12 to 5 pm today! With the Paw-Some Pets Project, adoption fees are waived at our shelter for Cook County residents!
Sage and Spindle
Our ten-year-old bonded pair, Sage and Spindle, struggled to adapt to the shelter when they came through our doors in November 2024. They were scared and stressed, but one thing always remained true -- they found comfort in each other. We recently received this update from Sage and Spindle in their foster home, where they are seen happy and walking step-by-step with each other. They look confident and delighted to be in a home ❤.

SSHS Pups Decide Super Bowl LIX
We are 32 hours away from the kickoff of Super Bowl LIX. So, we had to bring in the experts to decide who will win the Super Bowl! Will it be the Chiefs or the Eagles? It's up to the SSHS pups to decide! We interviewed some of them during their picking process to get into their mind on their decisions!

Ball Launcher With Our Pups!
Yesterday, we took advantage of the good weather by testing out a tennis ball launcher that was donated to us! We asked Ether, Bart, and Louie if they would like to have a little fun and they were super excited to help out ❤. We figured what better way to experience our pups having fun than to experience it through their POV ☺️.
Ether, Bart, and Louie are all available for adoption! We're open until 7 pm! If you're a Cook County resident, fees are waived at our shelter for our partnership with Cook County's Department of Animal and Rabies Control for Paw-Some Pets!
