SAVED FROM THE DUMP🛟

Earlier this week, we posted these dogs who were found living in a dump in Turkey at risk of being attacked and killed by the bigger and stronger dogs who are able to survive there.

This golden retriever was more interested in getting love and affection from humans than in the food they were offering.

Even though our fundraising fell far short, this dog has been picked up and is in transit to safety. It will be brought to the Garden so we can begin cataloguing and getting to know its needs.

We are drowning. PLEASE help us so we can keep helping them.

In the coming posts, we will show you dogs who have come into our care and who we NEED your help to care for. This is going to feel fast and furious, and it may give you a sense of what our days feel like, every day.

We are DROWNING in fosters, bills, surrenders, behavior dogs, desperate pleas for us to help. We are struggling and afraid for our financial future in a way that we have not been in a long time.

We have said yes and we have said no. Every yes is a burden on the rescue financially and physically. Every no is a dog that is put at risk to die. No matter our answer, it weighs heavy on our hearts.

WE NEED FOSTERS. WE NEED DONATIONS. We absolutely cannot continue at this pace.

Just in these first days of 2025, we have had 4 owner surrenders, some past TPGHR dogs and some from families who just needed help. We have pulled 4 dogs from shelters in Texas and one stray to prevent him from ending up in a shelter. Of these, at least 3 have significant behavioral challenges, which makes it incredibly difficult to find foster homes willing to work with them. One is going into an expensive board and train program.

We are aware that there is crisis happening everywhere, with every rescue, and especially those in California. We are in contact with friends and helpers in California to find ways to help. But as we know, rescue never stops and our dogs all over the US and in Türkiye still need support. We are committed to all of our dogs and also helping where help is needed.
