Meet Hankie – The Life of the Paw-ty! 🎉🐾

Looking for a dog who’s always ready to bring the fun? Meet Hankie, the playful pup with a super cool mohawk and an even cooler personality! This handsome guy is all about making friends—whether it’s with other dogs or his favorite humans. He LOVES a good game of chase and can turn any ordinary day into an adventure. While he sometimes gets a little overexcited, he’s quick to settle down and soak up all the love.

Hankie would love an active home with older kids who can match his playful spirit and help guide his enthusiasm. Whether it’s backyard zoomies (after his heartworm treatment, of course!) or a chill walk in the park, he’s down for it all!

Hankie has met another pup at the shelter and was a total rockstar—playful, friendly, and ready to party! A meet-and-greet with potential dog siblings is always recommended to make sure playstyles match.

Hankie is currently undergoing heartworm treatment, which means he needs leash walks only for the next 8 weeks—no wild zoomies just yet! He’ll also go home with medication and a full year of heartworm preventative (purchased at adoption).

🐾 Meet Thaniel! 🐾

Thaniel is a 7-month-old ball of energy looking for a home that can match his adventurous spirit! This playful pup is always on the move, ready to turn every day into an exciting new adventure. Whether he's chasing after squeaky toys, zooming around the yard, or learning new tricks (he's already mastered "sit" thanks to his love for treats!), Thaniel is full of life and eager to please.

While he thrives on playtime and mental stimulation, Thaniel does have a strong instinct to guard high-value items like food and toys. Because of this, he’d do best in an adult-only home or with dog-savvy teenagers who can respect his boundaries.

Thaniel may be able to live with another dog! He can be reactive on leash, but once in a play yard, he loves to make new furry friends. Thaniel has a history of chasing cats for fun. A slow, supervised introduction is recommended if there’s a feline in the home.

🐾 Senior Saturday: Meet Odie! 🐾

Hey there, I'm Odie, a 6-year-young pup looking for my furever home! I came to THS when my previous family could no longer care for me, but I’m ready to find a new best friend!

I’m a sweet, playful boy who loves:
🎾 Tennis balls & tug-o-war
🌳 Running around outside
🐶 Other dogs – I’ve lived with a male dog and love making new dog friends!
🐱 Cats – I’ve met some before and was mostly indifferent (though I might playfully chase now and then).
👶 Kids – I grew up with little ones (newborn-5 years old) and was gentle and friendly. However, I would sometimes get stressed in a busy environment and start licking and irritating my skin. I may feel more comfortable in a low-traffic home with older children.

🐾 Foster Friday | Daisy | With THS Since August 2024 🐾

Daisy didn’t ask for the life she was given. She was found as a stray, pregnant and alone, struggling to survive. She did everything she could to keep her babies safe, and when she arrived at THS, she finally had the chance to raise them in the comfort of a foster home. One by one, her kittens were adopted—each of them finding the loving families they deserved. But Daisy? She was left behind. 💔

Now, months later, Daisy is still waiting. She’s back with her first foster mom, where she gets to sleep in bed at night, wakes up eager for her morning canned food, and gets the zoomies through the house. But no matter how much love she receives in foster care, it’s not the same as having a home of her own.

Daisy is gentle, loving, and well-mannered. She prefers a quieter home where she can feel safe, and while she tolerates other cats, she seems to enjoy the company of male cats best. She loves being snuggled at bedtime and watching the world from a cozy perch. She’s been such a good mama, but now it’s her turn to be someone’s baby.

Please don’t let Daisy be forgotten. She has waited long enough. Could you be the one to give her a forever home?

🐟 Meet Minnow – The Pocket-Sized Pup With a Big Heart! 🐾

Looking for a pup who's fun-sized, full of love, and always ready to play? Meet Minnow! This 1-year-old sweetheart was rescued in December by another shelter down south and is now searching for a forever family to call her own here in Toledo!

Minnow LOVES her toys! She’s a pro at tossing them in the air, chasing after them, and showing off her best zoomies (peep the video in the comments). Whether she's entertaining herself or playing with her people, she’s always having a blast! Minnow enjoys making new dog friends and has played with pups of all sizes! She’s all about bouncy, rough-and-rowdy fun and the occasional game of chase. To make sure play styles are a match, a doggy meet-and-greet is required before she joins a home with another pup.

This wiggly girl is super treat- and toy-motivated, which makes training a breeze! She’ll lean in for pets, soak up affection, and is always happy to be by your side. Minnow is great on a leash but may hesitate in new places. She’s been working hard on building confidence (with the help of her dog friends!) and is getting braver every day! Since Minnow gets excited and sometimes mouths for attention, she’d do best with dog-savvy teens who can help her channel her energy in a positive way.

Minnow is a tiny pup with a huge heart, and she’s ready to bring love, laughter, and endless playtime to her forever home! Could it be yours?💜🐾

🚨 Skitters’ Rescue: A Tiny Fighter in Need 🚨

Kitten season is here, and every year, over 1,000 fragile kittens arrive at THS needing urgent care. Skitters was one of them. At just 4 weeks old, she barely weighed half a pound, struggled to breathe due to bruised ribs, and had a severely infected eye that required emergency removal. 💔

Thanks to donors in our community, Skitters got the medical care and love she needed to survive. Now, she’s a playful, biscuit-making cuddle bug who found her forever home! 🐾💖

🐾 Meet Tootie! A Sweet Soul in Search of a Safe Haven 🐾

Tootie is a 3-year-old gentle-hearted kitty who’s looking for a patient and understanding home. He came to us as a stray and is still learning to trust, but with the right family, he’s sure to blossom!

Tootie prefers being the only feline in the home, as he finds the presence of other cats stressful. However, he has lived with a small dog before and didn’t seem to mind! He has done well with older teenagers but hasn’t been around young children. He may need a little extra time to warm up to new people, so a peaceful home with a safe space to adjust would be ideal. He loves chasing after string and mouse toys, making playtime a great way to bond with him!
