This little girl came to us two years ago from the Humane Society of Yuma. We named her Petunia. We didn't have her very long when a sweet lady came and adopted her and changed her name to Mitsy. Unfortunately, this lady fell and injured herself to the point that she could no longer take care of Mitsy or herself so she asked if we could take Mitsy back, and of course we did. Mitsy came back this morning. Now go back a few days and we had a nice couple come out to talk to us about adopting a little dog. We did the home check and today, about an hour later, they came out. We told them about Mitsy's story and let them meet her, and of course they fell in love immediately. So Mitsy, now Missy, will be back in a loving home and be living the wonderful life she is used to. Happy Tails to this sweet girl.

A huge THANK YOU to all that donated towards Madigans vet care. She is doing great and has her next vet check on Wednesday. We are hoping she is all cleared for adoption. We do have one family that may be interested in giving this sweet girl the best home she deserves. So, paws crossed for this little nugget that her health is better, and she can go live the life she's always dreamed of.

Meet Madigan, (Irish for Little Dog). She is a 9-month-old French Bulldog who's start in life has not been great. She was kept in a very small crate with diapers on. This resulted in severe burns on her inner thighs and v***a area, Gerardia, hookworm, and some loss of muscle structure. We took her immediately to the vet where she was x-rayed for hip dysplasia and spinal injurie all were negative. We also had her tested for Parvo, again negative. She is on multiple antibiotics and will be rechecked in a few weeks. In spite of all this she is the happiest sweetest puppy. When we got her to the rescue, she did zoomie laps around the yard to show us she was thankful for her freedom. She is not currently up for adoption and won't be until we get her cleared by the vet. We know money is tight for everyone, but if you could donate to help with her vet care we would be very grateful. You can donate on here, or go onto our website, aarfrescue.net, and click on the donate button, mail us a check, AARF Animal Rescue and Sanctuary, 6639 S. Country Rd., Mayer, AZ 86333, or call us, 928-925-7219, and we can take a payment over the phone. Thank you all for helping us help them.

Rescue is important. Fostering, pulling dogs, adopting — that saves lives right now. But rescue alone will never end the problem.
>
> Prevention is the part we don’t talk about enough:
> • Spay & neuter
> • Affordable vet care
> • Education
> • Helping people before animals end up in shelters
>
> Rescue feels emotional and visible — you save this dog today.
> Prevention is quiet — it’s the hundreds of dogs who never enter the shelter at all.
>
> One spay or neuter can prevent dozens (or hundreds) of future animals from suffering, being abandoned, or euthanized. That’s rescue at scale.
>
> The hard truth:
> We cannot rescue our way out of overpopulation.
> Rescuers are already burned out and overwhelmed because the system keeps refilling itself.
>
> This isn’t rescue vs prevention.
> It’s rescue AND prevention.
>
> If we really care about animals, we have to stop the crisis at the source — not just respond to it over and over again.
>
> Praying helps. Caring helps.
> But spaying, neutering, and education are how we actually change things.

AARF is asking for your help. Our spay and neuter clinics at
Chino Valley Animal Hospital have been operating (literally) for 18
months with a total of 10 clinics. Our low-cost vouchers have
helped all those responsible pet owners resulting in nearly 600
pets altered, vaccinated, and microchipped. We started this
program with some generous donations targeted specifically for
spay/neuter. It didn’t take long for us to agree to those terms and
develop our program.
Now, those donations are running out. If we can’t get more dollars
to keep this program running, our last clinic will be in February
(until we get more funding). We believe in our hearts that this is a
well-needed program because of the rising cost of medical care
for our pets and the continuing over population. Offering this at
least helps alleviate one high but very critical cost and we don’t
want it to stop.
If you can donate even a little to help us keep this program viable,
we know little bits add up eventually. Please pass the word.
Donations can be made through our website, aarfrescue.net. Just
click on the donate button or you can mail a check to AARF
Animal Rescue and Sanctuary, 6639 S. Country Rd., Mayer, AZ
8633. You may call us at 928-925-7219, and we can take a
donation over the phone. Even better, please call and come visit
us to bring your donation directly. We would love to show you our
little rescue: we are very proud of who we are! If you can, please earmark your donation for the spay and neuter clinic.
Thank you for everything you all have done to help us help them.

We have had Baxter [ Bentley ] since last November and he has given us such joy in our lives. He has become Donett's lap dog and my little helper and foreman when I do work around the home. We wish everyone at AARF a Merry Christmas and great 2026.
Sincerely Jim and Donett and Baxter

Liz, Nina, and all the Volunteers,
Lulu, (formerly known as Tango) says “thank you” for helping me find my forever home.
Lulu quickly became an integral part of my family when she’s not stretched out on the couch with “her” pillows, she sits in my lap. She has her own outside bed and considers my bed her bed and hogs all the covers!!
She pretty much ignores my 3 cats and they her. Occasionally they touch noses and look a bit surprised when they do.
She loves car rides and walks. Last night we drove through the Valley of Lights in PV, she bounced from one side of the car to the other to take them all in. I think Snoopy was her favorite.
Hope the enclosed brings holiday happiness!
