Classes December 28/29
Last set before our January trials In Hutchinson

Classes offered on which day/days will depend on the demand. Senior is usually in the morning followed by Open/Novice and end with Intro Seminars. You MUST email me, [email protected], with your dog’s NAME and BREED, which day/time is best and the CLASS you are wanting. They are in Inver Grove Heights and $25/dog. I try to do 4 dogs/class hour and up to 10 dogs for Intro Seminars if we can be outside, not winter, for the introduction part otherwise it’s 5 maybe 6 dogs. I will make the schedule up the Monday before and send out confirmation emails followed with a PayPal invoice. Once the schedule is set it is hard to add dogs except for the Intro Seminars. The shed is not temperature controlled and at a private residence. I do have a couple small space heaters to help take the chill off. Dogs can wear coats when in the ring for classes. Dogs hunt better in cold weather than warm. There is NO public bathroom. Details will be sent out once I receive payment. Once you sign up and pay, there are no refunds unless I can replace your run.

I sent an email out for the Intro Seminar to come at 3.30 instead of 4:00 today due to a couple of dogs needing to pull in a class before them.

Intro Seminar Details

For those coming to an Intro Seminar and new to the location, the Seminar lasts 1-1.5 hours with 5-6 dogs. In warm months there could be up to 10 dogs if we can do the introduction to the rat outside for more room. Potty your dogs when you get there and then come into the building. The first part is all hands on with your dog to be introduced to the rat. Bring high value treats to reward or lure them closer to the rat if it is needed. When all dogs are done, I will be in the ring with my dog to demo how the game is run and the main rules you need to know to compete at the entry level class. You may crate you dog in the building if somewhat quiet or have them at the ringside spaced out between dogs otherwise in your car. Once that is done you will potty your dogs again and one by one will be in the ring to run an Instinct run. Once all dogs are done you will potty them again and then you will run a Novice run to watch your dogs hunt. Dogs need to be at least 10 feet from the ring and not distracting the dog in the ring working. They will be allowed to run with a coat on if cold. They run naked. Please have a easy to remove collar or harness. The shed is a “garage” with carpeting on the floor and a couple space heaters to help take the chill off. There is a gas station 6 minutes away if you need a bathroom. If the cold is affecting yourself or your dog, please ask to be first to run to leave earlier. I hate being cold and I can be there all day doing this. Most dogs actually do better in the cold than when it’s hot and humid. There are no refunds unless I can replace your time with another dog and have time to do it. I hope this answers your questions you may have. Please email if you have more. Communication is key!!
