Rabies Vaccination Requirements for Dogs and Cats in Cuyahoga County

Guidelines for Pet Owners

Cuyahoga County Rabies Vaccination Mandate.

Cuyahoga County mandates that all dogs and cats aged four months and older must be vaccinated against rabies. This essential public health measure aims to prevent the spread of rabies—a dangerous and often fatal viral disease that affects both animals and humans. Pet owners are required to ensure that their pets receive their initial rabies vaccination once they reach the age of four months and maintain up-to-date vaccinations as per the recommended schedule.

Mayfield Pet Hospital Vaccination Policy

In alignment with Cuyahoga County's regulations, Mayfield Pet Hospital requires all clients to have their dogs and cats currently vaccinated for rabies. Ensuring that all pets visiting the hospital are vaccinated helps protect the health and safety of other animals and humans within the facility. Pet owners should bring proof of current rabies vaccination when visiting the hospital to comply with this policy.
Key Points to Remember:
• All dogs and cats four months of age and older must be vaccinated for rabies.
• Maintain up-to-date rabies vaccinations to protect your pets and community.
• Proof of current rabies vaccination is required for visits to Mayfield Pet Hospital.
By adhering to these guidelines, pet owners help ensure a safer environment for everyone and contribute to the effective control and prevention of rabies in Cuyahoga County.

Sincerely,
Daniel W. Winger
Owner
